I have been feeling really bloated since my op on Wednesday and it cannot be my diet as I have been eating really healthy to avoid any weigh gain whilst resting but when I weighed myself tonight I have gained 6lbs.. Has anyone else gained weight? Also my wounds feel raised? Is this normal?

Hi Emma, I had my op on Wednesday and I’m also feeling the same. My stomach is in bits and really bloated! The nurse said its the cocodamol but I came off them yesterday and still feel the same. I too have been eating healthy and never experienced bloatyness like it! I hoping it will go soon I can’t stand it. Hope you’re healing ok! x

I haven’t had my op yet girls but had general 5 times 🙁 pretty shitty, but anyway your weight will settle after a few weeks and i mean about 4 weeks, the general bangs you up so you can’t poo. and your body has been through a lot its adjusting. so don’t worry about weight gain, just have plenty fibre and protein xxx

I just found this text from another site

“Weight gain following any kind of cosmetic plastic surgery is quite common. First there is the gain from the breast implants themselves. 400cc implants on each side will add two or three pounds to your weight. In addition, the stress of anaesthesia and any surgery results in water retention and this can add several pounds. Accumulation of nine pounds, although seemingly excessive, likely represents 75% to 80% water retention due to the stress of the surgery. Over 7 to 21 days, with ongoing recovery, ambulation, walking and drinking plenty of water, generally your weight should return to your preoperative status with the addition of the implants.

If you continue to have weight gain and are concerned, there may be some other causes to the weight gain, such as reduced renal function, reduced cardiac capacity or liver insufficiency. Seeing your operative physician would be paramount to ensure that there is no complication”
