Okay so I’m desperate to get back into some kind of shape.. Put on about 6lbs. Been doing very light things in the gym cardio wise & free leg weights but I’m missing proper lifting SO much. Nurse says 3 months before I can even consider anything light, anybody went back to weights any sooner? I don’t wanna damage my boobs but at the same time I’m eating every little thing in sight feeling sorry for myself because I can’t train ?

I asked this at my pre op and she said light exercise after 6 weeks…. And long distance running (I do marathons) and weights (I do kettlebells) after 3 month when surgeon has cleared you- it’s going to be a killer! Nurse said can run before 3 months but not overly long distances xx

Oh gosh! I’m praying at my 6 week check everything will be fine.. I’ve gone against everything they’ve said so far although I probably shouldn’t have so I’m just gonna see how I feel! Hoping someone will see this who’s been terrible too and pushed their luck haha! I’ve been back at the gym since 15 days PO and managing ab workouts now but I’m dying to lift I’ve lost all muscle tone πŸ™ I’m scared to try cardio even when I go up and down stairs I can feel my left implant bobbin around in there aha! xxx

Keep me posted…. Love reading how you’re getting on as training is what’s stopped me from getting a ba in the past… Total gym bunny too! Guess you know you’re own body chick and you know what you’re ok to do…. That’s my plan as well- I’ll just try stuff as soon as I’m ready and see! Losing definition is so massively frustrating, but I always think it pings back too dead quickly and makes you feel ace after a little soft stage xx

I was told no heavy lifting until 6 weeks.. so I would have thought certain things would be fine! Im obsessed with weight training also so I may just stay away from chest press and rows etc that are going to really work the pecks and just do squats with the Olympic bar and weights like normal and maybe curls and lunges … I cant imagine them doing any damage as your barely engaging the muscles xx

That’s what I thought- as long as you’re not overly working chest muscles it should all be ok!?! My nurse said can do light legs before 6 week check but nothing ‘strenuous’- guess it depends what they class as strenuous! I know initially you can’t exercise as can be dangerous to raise heartbeat too much- but sure that’s only weeks 1-6! Xxx

It’s so hard not to go all out when you’re used to training hard girls but when I first went back I was only walking on incline then some leg weights and I could feel my chest twinging! Spinning is the only thing keeping me sane but even that is a struggle to do more then just a seated climb without sending myself fuzzy headed! I even resorted to power plates last week thinking its fine I’ll just do some ski squats on it.. Wronggg nearly shook my implants out ??? I’ve a feeling if I told my nurse what I’ve been upto I would get the most disapproving look possible but hey ho I i know they’re extra cautious with time limits just to cover their own back if I have a problem! I’m hoping this few weeks out will bring me back stronger but I know I’ve ate like a total pig so I’m in for a treat trying to kick those few pounds while i can’t work it off! Nightmare I dunno how people don’t train its sending me over the edge ? xxx

Surgeons on real self say 6 weeks… Some even say 4 weeks after you can start light weights. There is so many different messages out there.
My personal trainer is a body builder, competes in several competitions throughout the year, and had her BA last year. She didn’t wait 3 months. She was back in the gym 3 weeks later training clients and pretty sure she was training upper body about 6 weeks later. There is no way she waited 3 months, she couldn’t. It would mess up her competition prep.

Anyone started training again after 6 weeks? How did you get on?

You’re right Adele there is alot of mixed messages. I’ve seen girls saying they weren’t allowed sunbeds for a year on nurses advice or that you can’t wash with any products but then a nurse recommended sanex it’s so confusing haha! I know it’s just so you can’t go back and say you’ve had problems and need a re op so they’re extra cautious but surely it they are fully healed there will be no harm ☺️ That’s made me feel better about your pt tho, gives me some hope haha! Xxx

@AIMEE ???? to your power plates comment- that made me laugh sooooo much- totally something I would do too!! Keep me posted on this one chick as there’s not a cat in hells chance I can wait 3 months to get back into marathon training and weights- I’d be beyond cranky with no training for that long!! Stay off those power plates lady! ? Xxx

I’m a personal trainer and teach a lot of classes. I had 375cc unders . I went back to work after 2 weeks and started teaching spin after 3 weeks all lower body. But after 4 weekz I was teaching body pump with light weights. I had my op 1st feb and have been back weight training in the gym upper and lower for a few weeks now and all seems fine. Xx

I just made sure ate a lot of protein to make sure the muscle was repairing and didn’t go heavy straight away. I left specific chest work for a few weeks longer but was fine with shoulders back etc xx
