Weightlifting, Aerial & Pole training – Overs Vs. Unders? THE BIG QN! Started by: Peggy

So my initial research wanted me to have UNDERS for a natural look to enhance my existing small 32A chest. Then I started to read more specifically about aerial and pole training (which I’ve done a lot of on & off for the past 10 years – I have really developed pecs and lats, even still after dropping my training significantly the past 2 years) and so much that I have researched on this seems to result in problems with unders a few years down the line, not just animation but migration etc…

Then I decided if I could, I would go with OVERS. The problem is, I am a 32A. And very little tissue to work with!…
I had a consultation today and hoping to chat this over again in more detail next week, as it was suggested that I go with 300cc unders. I think the size is great, I’m just incredibly worried about the placement.
I have no boobs and my pecs are still very strong, and the idea of implants under the muscle being animated and effecting the muscle strength is putting me off the idea of unders a lot.

I’m finding from research that often unders are recommended by surgeons regardless- and just to rest up longer, yet post op feedback suggest overs would be better in this case, even on smaller frames…

I’m not worried about being really big particularly, so wondering if suggesting a smaller implant around 250cc may be an option?
The surgeon did say that they could do either placement, but they thought overs would be visible, and would prefer to place these under- having performed many BA’s under the muscle on swimmers, weightlifters with no problems.

I’m really happy with the honest feedback and of course professional opinion, but it just makes me wonder if it is really worth going for unders if I don’t plan to give up aerial training in the next 10 years?

Worst case scenario! – Would it be worth going with overs and correcting these to unders if they are too visible, rather than going with unders which seems a more invasive procedure with the muscle- rather than the other way around?

Is there anyone who is in a similar situation, or who is post op and can offer their experience?
I’m really torn with what to do! But I hope a 2nd consultation will clarify a few things- but it’s also really helpful to hear from everyone post op as well! 🙂
    Thank you! xx

Hey @kezahoney82! Yeah it’s a really tough one! I think I would prefer unders for a slightly more natural look but then again, overs can look as natural as the other in the right size etc- my biggest concern is the different movement used for aerial and pole compared to swimming and weightlifting so much and hearing how this can really effect the placement of the implant, even after a few years.. ah, just wish I had more tissue to start with as I definitely feel like I would personally prefer to go with overs – hopefully a 2nd consultation will clear up a few concerns 🙂 All the best with your op, not long to go now, exciting!! Do you mind if I add you to follow your progress too? I’m booked in for my op on the 1st June- can’t wait!! 😀 xx

Yeah, I completely agree that even overs can look really natural with the right size. It’s such a massive decision isn’t it? Of course you can add me. I’m just getting used to this forum, I don’t really know how to work it and notifications and stuff. Lol. X

Hi Peggy..i had 400cc overs , my surgeon really wanted me to get under as he prefers it and says it looks more natural. I had my op 7 weeks ago and I cant imagine them looking any.ore natural than they do now so the myth that overs look really fake is wrong. Also when I’m lifting weights they don’t shift or contort the way under would. Also I only started with a very small b and 400cc fits easily and I have no stretch marks or tight skin. There is a before and after on my profile if you want to see and message me if you’d like to see any other pics. Hope this helps x

I agree with Laura! Not sure what you went with in the end Peggy but if you did go for overs then don’t worry about them not looking natural! Mine look soooo natural and they’re overs! I don’t get the idea that unders look more natural it’s so subjective like mine look more natural than a lot of girls on here who have had unders like don’t get me wrong theirs look absolutely incredible and are the look they want and mine are the look I want! We all get caught up in the ideology that unders are the natural way but that’s not always the case! Whatever you go for they will look incredible either way as mya have amazing surgeons and they know what they’re doing so good luck!!!!x

    Thank you both! @milliebradshaw @laurao
I came out of surgery a few hours ago and completely changed my plan 2 days ago to a smaller implant over the muscle- even though I’m aware of risks of rippling etc- I’m really glad I did as my mind feels so much more at ease, and I think when I begin training again when I’m good to go, I will feel much less anxious about it! 😀
I had veeeery little tissue so we discussed a smaller implant of 225cc and think I’ve got 250cc mod profile which is great. Super happy with them so far and * touch wood * I am feeling good at the moment after coffee and toast!
Hope you’re both doing well too! Do you mind if I add you to share each other’s progress? 🙂

@peggypalms of course I’ve just accepted you. Congrats on the new boobs 🙂 so glad you’re happy with your decision in the end! I bet they look great! The recovery is soo much easier with overs I was back in work after a week. Don’t force it though..the first week was uncomfortable for me just the feeling of tightness but its worth it. Happy healing! Xx

    Thanks girls!
Felt pretty good after surgery yesterday, just a little pain in the evening but mostly just tightness, and again this morning. Had my next lot of meds though so should be good to go soon!
I’m hoping my V pillows and backrest arrive today! 😀
I’m also looking forward to training once I have recovered and having no animation.
Yay for boobs! Happy healing ladies!
