Hi Jameila, My surgery was on Tuesday and I was a day case but ended up having to stay over night due to some problems.
I didn’t take that much stuff but I took leggings and a top that buttons up for after surgery, underwear, fluffy socks, my macom bra, snacks for after op (they do provide food like toast after op) and stuff to do before my op. You don’t need that much as they provide a lot of what you need like the compression socks, dressing gown, breast band etc. I’d just take anything you think might make you more comfortable, I took pillows and blankets for the car journey home which was a horrible two hour drive.

    Hope this helps?xx

When you get there they give you a robe to wear and a dressing gown with slippers. You wear these until after your operation and then when you leave you can change into your clothes. It’s up to you if you take pyjamas, I wore leggings and a pyjama top, anything loose will be okay and shoes that are easy to put on after you op.

As you’re going as a day case I doubt you’d need any toiletries I didn’t take any or need them xx

Hi jameila, yes I was at Fitzroy aswell. We parked at the citypark car park on Clifton street which is about a 5 minute walk to the clinic. You pay when you get your car to leave and it’s £25 for 12 hours so it’s not too expensive. After my surgery my mum went to get the car and then parked outside the clinic so I didn’t have to walk back to the car park.

Hope this helps, you should be able to google maps the car park xx

Hi Emilee, sorry to hear you had complications. Out of curiosity, do you have to pay for the overnight stay if there is a problem? i know the overnight is more expensive than day case xxx

@kimoldham thank you, I did enquire about staying overnight before surgery and she said it’s an extra £600 so I decided to just be a day case. I went back to my room around 2:30pm and then as I said had complications after that and when it got to around 10:30pm, the doctor came and he decided that I wasn’t able to go home. After that I stayed till 6am the next morning(we decided to leave this earlier could have stayed longer).

No one ever mentioned anything about paying for overnight that day and I just met my nurse today and didn’t hear anything so I think if you have any serious problems that prevent you from going home you get to stay over night for free.

I’m now 7 dpo just had strapping off and healing well! xxx
