I’m booked my surgery for the 3rd march, I have my pre op on the 26th January, I just wondered if anyone could tell me what to expect at the pre op and how long il be there? I’m petrified of getting my bloods done and the thought of it is making me worry?!?! Xx

    Hey Olivia,

I had my pre-op 29th December, it was really quick! Wasn’t in there long at all!

My nurse asked me a few questions about myself, checked my blood pressure, weighed me, checked my height and took before photos. Because they had ran out of swabs I was asked to come back (luckily I only work less than 5 minutes from Fitzroy Square). I didn’t have any blood tests done, just a swab up the nose and under the armpit.

I don’t think I’m forgetting anything, pretty sure that’s all that happened! I was so nervous before going but there really is nothing to worry about! xxx

    Hi Olivia,

If your BMI is lower than 19 (I think it’s 19 but I’m not 100% sure) then they have to take bloods to check how quickly your blood clots. I was underweight so I had to have blood tests but I don’t think a lot of people have that done, as Holly said it’s very quick! It’s a good opportunity to ask any last minute questions xx

I was really quick too. We had a chat about the size i ave chosen and all the pre op and post op advice. She made my 1st post op appointment. I had bloods taken but only because i have genetic issue which means I’m more likely to get dvt so they checked my clotting.
