I had my surgery yesterday, and I thought I would be absolutely fine.. I couldn’t be more wrong, just had my dinner made for me and I couldn’t even shake the salt on to my plate haha!!
I had my little girl with no pain killers so I thought this would be a breeze.
But I’ve noticed everybody is totally different.
Are you having overs or under?
I had unders and there supposed to be a bit more painful.

Hey I had overs 6 days po and I need help with lifting heavier things and reaching things above head height. Can brush my own teeth and wash my face but needed help washing and drying my hair and stuff. Youll know when youve got them what you can do and cant do. Everyones different 🙂 xx

I had unders and was unable to do most things for the first few days! Deffo couldn’t wash my hair or even my face actually lol. Couldn’t brush my teeth either! Took me 5 days to have the energy to get dressed(I just wore my nightgown) until then. My partner got me a bottle of coke and i couldn’t even screw the lid off. Silly things like that xx

Awe bless you lady’s. I’m having unders as that’s what Mr Kazazzi recommend.
I’m just trying to prepare myself for after really and for what kind of things ill have to ask my partner to do lol. My parents will be having my two chihuahuas for a few days so I won’t have to worry about sorting them out and having them jump all over me while I am recovering on the sofa lol.

If you’ve got your partners for a few days you will be fine, mine has had to help me flush the loo, get me dressed. Do as little as possible it will help with your healing xxx

Gosh , I’m so worried when you mention that you couldn’t wash your face or brush your teeth . I do hope I can do those things…I’m not too bothered if I can’t do the rest as I will just have to get my kids to do them for me. Btw , I’m having unders next week Tuesday 16th Feb …

The most annoying thing was I couldn’t open the bloody fridge.. Or do things like pull my pants up or flush the toilet. And when they tell you to shuffle back on the bed using only your bum… Well… I’d start practicing now lol I just couldn’t do it. Day 4 after I’d stopped being sick everywhere I realised I had to cross my legs and use both my bum and my feet to move up the bed successfully 🙂 xxx

Beverly loved that post. I was the same! Couldn’t open my freezer door. And I was the same trying to shuffle back in the bed I was literally pushing my feet against the walls to get back up lol. I’m only 10 days post op and it does seem like a bit of a distant memory now but I still remember the struggle! Couldn’t pop my tablets out of its packet either. But it’s not because your in pain it’s just your so limited of the use of your arms xx

I live away from my parents with my husband and kids, my husband took the day off for my op to take care of me and my parents came to my house for a week to look aft our three kids and dogs and cats.
I couldn’t sit up without help for the first 2 days I could take lift a glass had to have bottles of water half full. I couldn’t brush my teeth till day 3 properly, yesterday (day 6!) I managed to wash my own hair over the shower and had a shallow bath on my own but I’m on day 7 now my parents have gone and now hubbys parents have stepped in to help with kids on a morning to get them off to school etc…
You just need major help the first few days I’d say then as long as everything is within arms length not above head after you’ll be fine x

Love this tread it exactly the type of thing I’ve been thinking and more worried about it than the op. I have two small children and my hubby is dreadful when I even have a cold. We have discussed it at length though and he is going to help I just don’t know how long it will last doing it all ha ha. Unfortunately got no other help and I’m not telling many people. Im just going to be super organised with meal prep and blitz the house the day before.
Am I right girls in thinking though you cant have a shower for a week. I was thinking maybe after a week going for a blow dry to make myself feel human would that be poss do you think?
@xdannix Wish I had such a supportive family that sounds so good I’m so worried about my boys but dont want to ruin my recovery doing too much too x

Wow lady’s you’re all so helpful ! My nerves are starting to get the better of me at the moment. My op isn’t until the 4th of march and I’m so scared that something might go wrong. To tell you the truth I’m sh*#ing myself lol !
My partner and parents never wanted me to have it done but I know they will support me and help me out. I’m just trying to prepare myself.
I broke my arm last year and I felt so silly having to ask my other half to shave my hairy armpits… oh the horror !

Awww don’t worry all you ladies who still waiting for your op dates! You’ll be fine. But it’s really important to let your body rest and recover properly so if anyone offers any help take it! I struggled with basic things too but as the days pass it gets better. All the best 🙂 xxx
