What should you pack on the day of your BA and what other items should you get in preparation? I have seen things such as a V pillow, Macom bra, arnica gel, rose hip oil etc etc. What has worked best for you? xx

Hi jo, there are a lot of posts on this if you use the search bar loads will come up! Myself, I packed sports bra (M&S zip up), slippers, dressing gown (although Preston first trust hospital supplied one), pyjama bottoms and zip up hoodie to come home in, I took just a normal pillow in the car for travelling home – but I didn’t need it, magazines – i was in my hospital room longer before surgery than after ha, some mints for post op and a bottle of lucazade … And I think that’s pretty much it really! x

    I’m two day post op.
All I needed in hospital was things to keep me entertained whilst waiting for surgery, comfy trousers to travel up there in and travel home in and a zip up hoodie and a tooth brush. U won’t be able to shower after surgery so need to take showering items, I just managed to brush my teeth before leaving hospital, as not a lot of movement in my arms.
Defo wash your hair before surgery, as it’ll be a little while before u can do it again.
I didn’t bother with a dressing gown, as I sat in comfy clothes up until I went for surgery, then went down in surgery gown provided; and was in bed then until I left, a dressing gown is quite a bulky thing to carry.
The least u take the better as u gotta carry to come home. I didn’t bother with makeup either, was too consumed with pain to bother x
