Hi ladies! hope youve had a good christmas!
I am really contemplating booking surgery for next summer, but also have a family holiday scheduled. How long should i have the BA before going on holiday (to spain). Just nervous for any complications and so on. it will be to an area of spain ive been many times before.

also how long have people left to submerge in pool water and go swimming after the BA?

    Thankyou ! Ella x

    hi,

most surgeons advise not to submerge the scars in water until 6 weeks, but others have advised a shorter duration (maybe 4 weeks), so ask the surgeons when you meet them.

I’d look at 6 weeks before, and then if any complications arise, you have plenty of time to get it sorted by them x

I wouldn’t go OK holiday until after 6WPO as you can’t fly or soak your incisions until then. Xx

I would say 6 weeks also, but if you could have it done like 2 months before that would be ideal, as some people take longer to recover etc so give your body a bit of extra time then you can look your best in your bikini lol … I only had 1 week off work after the op so maybe if you can squeeze in some time before that would be good x

I’m going on Friday and I’m 6 weeks post op, have my check with the nurse tomorrow. I chose my op date as they said 6 weeks would be fine. I had an uplift too and I have to keep the scarring covered so they don’t go darker. I’m going to look a bit weird though as I’ve decided to wear a sports bra and a crop top over the top. This is because I’ve read that as my skin is stretched due to uplift I shouldn’t get it tanned. Also I don’t feel ready to just be in a bikini unless it was a really supportive one. I still want to wear sports bra’s and my MACOM’S a bit longer. Hope this helps x

Also, I read that the chlorine in the pool isn’t good, so you’re not meant to be in pools or jacuzzi’s for 8 weeks, so no pool for me either, but you can drink, so I plan to be at the bar in my MACOM and crop top lol x

I had my opp on 28th of November and flew out to Iceland yeaterday and have been completly fine. Ive also been in the blue lagoon which is hot natural spring waters and the pool in the hotel and been fine with both. Both my surgeon and nurse said it would be fine as after about 2 weeks incisions should be closed. In the hotel swimming pool i have put little dressings over my scars just incase. But honestly 6 weeks is reccomended but 4 weeks is fine. They also say 6 for long flights because of the risk of blood clots. Hope this helps. Xx

I’ve been to the Mya clinic today and got told after 6 eeels you can on no longer than a 4 hour flight abroad. Hope that helps x

I have booked to go to Barbados with my lovely new boobs on the 9th June – it’s an 8hour flight. My op is Jan 30th – will I be cleared to fly do you think??
