When does the swelling go down??

Help please post op girls! I’m day 2 post op and keeping my meds up so pain is definitely bare able but I’m in so much discomfort with swelling! Feels like my boobs have just been pumped with air and I’m very bloated (which I was expecting). Just wondering when peoples swelling and tightness usually calmed down a little? Xx

Have u tried ice packs ? X

I hadn’t thought about that @fionajsd should I be putting that over the top of my bra? They just feel rock hard at the moment like they’re not supposed to be there haha strange feeling xx

It can take weeks or even months for swelling to fully go down but it will become more comfortable after a couple of weeks x

Get your ice packs out – you’re looking at about a week I think for it to ease up. Just wrap the ice pack in a tea towel and put it on the top of your boobs – works a treat! xx

Thank you girls, have any of you found that wearing a sports bra instead of a Macom has helped? Feeling quite restricted in my Macom and not sure whether softer material will be better for me xxx @tracyface @destijl

I was strapped to high heaven until day 7 which was really restrictive and so increadibly tight!! Unfortunately they have to be cooped up for them to settle into their pockets, it’s something we have to put up with I’m afraid!!

I’d say go and try on a more comfy sports bra on day 7, like a Shock Absorber xx

I didn’t get on with shock absorbers I found they irritated my scars I found the zip fronted sports bras sat a bit lower and I personally found them more comfy, worth trying a few different styles on to see which is going to be better for you x

Lucy I am the same as you! I cannot wait for my swelling to go down they feel huge! I am going to give the ice packs ago tomorrow I think! Can’t wait till they go down and feel normal!! Xxx

I also only wore my Maccom on day one then swapped to a normal sports bra as I felt my Maccom was to tight and I was so uncomfortable! Xx

@jadefxox what sports bra did you decide on? Now I’ve got some feeling back my Macom is really rubbing on my incisions and making them sting

I’ve just got the asda ones at the minute which seem to be abit better xxx
