Well I’ve done it. After 8 years of shall I or shan’t I have plastic surgery.. I’ve just sent my email off to MYA saying that I want to go ahead and book.

I don’t have anyone to tell and I feel a bit deflated. I wont tell my mum as she will just tell all her friends and my sisters and they will all laugh at me and then make me feel bad. I wont tell my dad as he will just say .. Are you mad.
I wont tell my sons as they wont understand and I don’t really have friends to tell as I split up with my husband 9 years ago and walked away from all friends. I have a new hubby now and obviously we have talked so he knows.

That’s it, just my hubby 🙁

Oh and now you lot lol

I sent the email and was really happy then realised I had no one to tell my big news too and so had a little cry.

    feeling a bit lonely.

    xx

Awww congrats!!! I booked mine yesterday!! I was going to keep the news with in the family but I’m so excited i told a lot of people!! But i don’t care for their opinions as I was so unhappy an insecure about my natural boobies after breast feeding (I am now an A cup) that I couldn’t be more happier!!! I love these message boards and read through these if I need help and advice as going under the knife is still quite a taboo where I live.

    Well good luck!!!

Hi Sian let me do a drum roll for you! This is such a massive decision, both exciting and nerve racking all at the same time, and its a shame you don’t have a girlfriend to share it with, I broached the subject with my kids 24 and 22 daughter and son respectively & they have been great, supportive and are literally planning on running round for me over Christmas my op is 20th Dec. So please add me, and perhaps we can share our excitement, nerves and story, there are some great girls on here and even though I’m probably one of the oldest I’ve found all the answers I needed and support xxxx

    Awww, dont feel sad!
I only have people on here also! the only people who know in my life is my fiance and my mom! i told people before when i was looking into having it done 2 years or so ago, and they were unvelieveably judgemental! you never heard so many opinions in your life. so this time round ive kept it quiet and only shared online.
it kills me, especially when i see mya posting on facebook and i cant comment or even like the post because it will appear on “friends” newsfeed 🙁

chin up doll, you have us 🙂 🙂

    oh and, CONGRATULATIONS

“TA-DA” … That’s a triumphant trumpet sound… Congratulations and welcome to the secrecy club, you are not alone!
We understand how you feel and I agree with the others that this forum is fantastic, is has helped me talk to my MYA friends online, when I can’t talk to many others. I’ve told my sister (who is supportive but a little bemused), my elderly mother (who thinks I’m nuts but says ‘whatever you like my dear’!) and my beloved husband who, like you, is my 2nd husband, and is fabulously caring, loving and supportive (but is still a bloke, so doesn’t really get it!)
Enjoy the ride Sian, talk to us anytime and I’m sure you’ll find a girl friend close to you somewhere over the coming months who will listen and be there for you too. It’s your life and your body – smile and be happy knowing you’re doing what you want.

    – I’ll challenge you on being the oldest on here….!? Xxx
