Why do I have strapping on (so restricted)

Hey guys I had my op on Monday, when I left hospital I was still strapped up but they put my Malcom on over the top, the day after I was in agony and it was cutting in and so so tight! When I eventually got home after travelling back from London my mum went and got me some comfier bras a bit bigger/ they are still uncomfortable and I just feel so restricted and in pain!! Is this because of the strapping? -and had anyone else had the same thing? Xxxxxx

Hi Emily, I’v got full strapping on too and had my op last Friday, the nurse at the hospital told me I didn’t need to wear my macom with the strapping so I didn’t for the first day and I was in a lot of pain, I decided to put the macom on for extra support and it felt so much better but can get too tight so I try and Wear it all day. My boobs have been swelling and then felt okay but last night they swelled to the biggest they have so far and with the strapping on it was unbearable and I was so irritated with what to do. I put loads of ice on and took my macom off for the night and this morning I’m okay again. I’v also found the strapping unbearably itchy at times and have had to take antihistamines as the nurse at the hospital noticed that I was reacting to the glue used in the tapes and strapping. Luckily I have managed to see it through for the week (the nurse also advised to go and get the strapping removed if the rash spread) and I get my strapping off tomorrow which I absolutely cannot wait for!!!! I’m hoping it provides a lot of relief too! I’m guessing yours is on Til Monday? You literally have to bare through it, the only advice I can give is use ice to reduce swelling and take breaks from the sports bra x

Hey heather thanks for your reply, I wasn’t told that I didn’t have to wear a bra with the strapping, so I really wasn’t sure, but like you said the Malcom was so tight! Like unbearable! And I’m the same with the itching too! I’m so so uncomfortable! Yeah I’m getting my strapping removed on Tuesday and I literally can’t wait! I’ve tried ice but where do you put it? I can’t wait to actually see my boobs too haha!! They look so pointy at the mo all I can see is the nipple! What surgeon did you have Hun? Because apparently only a few use strapping! What did you have? I had 325 HP Over the muscle, roll on Tuesday!! Xxxxxx

Hey, i havent had mine done yet (my op is tomorrow) so im not sure if ill have strapping but i was told the same at me pre-op. If you do have strapping you dont have to wear youre macom on top unless you want to or if the strapping becomes loose.
