I am a little concerned with all the bad reviews that are appearing with regards to the Fitzroy as I have my op in 2 weeks there. I will be fuming if the service is as bad as people are saying it is for how much an overnight stay costs there! I mean people not getting anything to eat after being starved for so long is surely basics! let me know your experiences with the Fitzroy ## I am concerned about the care as I am having to procedures combined

Hi hun, I couldn’t fault any of the staff at the Fitzroy. I stayed overnight and each time I pressed my button for a nurse (which was quite often lol) they were there within seconds to help me. I had chosen my meal before I went down but couldn’t face eating it after surgery however the nurses asked me several times if I wanted it! I didn’t have to ask for anything, they changed my water regularly, they gave me pain killers when I could have them, they helped me to the loo, honestly there was nothing they could have done better! You’ll be fine hun x

Hi Hun, I had my op 17 days ago at fittest and it has the best surgeons which is so important! My PC hasn’t been fab but on the day the staff were perfect, I had one rude nurse slam a door on me when I came round from my op but her attitude changed quickly when I requested she wasn’t aloud back in my room! I basically don’t take pills and had requested liquid before my op at my consultation and the nurse messed up my medication and yeah she had a tantrum Hhah but the other staff were fab! I was offered toast and biscuits as soon as I woke and tea and water, although my nurse forgot my tea! I took my own juice and food in my bag as it’s yummiest! Butt they are good like they check you quite a lot xx

Hey hun yes the wait sometimes is a bit long but it’s all worth it in the end. The nurses are lovely they offered me my dinner loads but I just didn’t fancy it. My room was boiling but the nurse went and found me a fan etc and they checked me regularly and whenever I rung the buzzer for more pain killers they were there within 30 seconds. Could not fault them! Hope this helps if you have any questions just tag me. I was only there yesterday xxxx

I had my op on Thursday and stayed overnight at the Fitzroy, and I’m so pleased I did! Although there was quite a wait from the admission time to my op, the nurses and staff couldn’t have been nicer. They were there to help whenever I needed them. I didn’t want food after my surgery but they did ask, and at about 8 the next morning they were in with tea and asking if I wanted any breakfast. I wouldn’t be worried, I’m sure you’ll be fine ! xx

I stayed at The Fitzroy on Wednesday & the nurses are amazing. They helped me with organising my pillows & came to check on me every so often. I came round from my op at about 9pm so they told me it was too late to have my ordered chicken & bacon sandwich but they made me tea, toast & biscuits. Honestly couldn’t fault the service, the only thing I would & have said is that I was unable to sleep because of the beeping from buzzers every 5 minutes & the banging of cupboards as they were either tidying up or sorting things out. Didnt even get half hours sleep I was awake all night but they were really good x

Hey Hun had my op done yesterday and the staff were amazing. I was given the emergency buzzer and was told to feel free to use it whenever. I did not get the chance to use it once as the nurses kept on checking me in and feel free to ask food or tea / Coffe. I could not eat my sandwich which they have ordered for me but I have asked some tost approx 2300 pm and the happily brought it to me . As well as pain relief make sure YOU Tell them of in pain. Good Luck

But I do agree with the above comment – ask them for pain relief if you need it. I felt really sick when I came round from my op so I asked for an anti-sickness injection, they brought me it within 5 minutes. Then about 4 hours later just before I was discharged i was in a lot of pain so they brought me some tablets and a cup of tea to have before I left xx
