Just been doing some research online following my recent consultation, my surgeon wants to perform a modified breast lift which involves making an incision around the areolar. This sounded great to me as I would avoid the veritcal scar however after researching this procedure online I’ve found that this ind of lift really isn’t recommended as it has been known to flatten the breast and just lifts / reduces the nipple and not the breast tissue. Anyone had this kind of procedure? Worried now as its costing me alot of money!!

Which surgeon have you seen? I’ve got quite a few friends on here over the couple of years I’ve been on here that have had that and are happy with their results x

I’m having this procedure too! My surgeon has explained that by having a nipple lift he is simply moving the nipple higher to a more ‘desirable position’ as he kept calling it! I am also only going to have scars only around the areola! If you’re having a nipple lift your breast tissue is not likely to be the problem it’s the skin around the nipple and the position around the nipple causing their shape, when lifting and re positioning that nipple I have been told it will give me a natural ‘normal’ look again with the nipple facing outwards And being positioned in the centre of the breast! A full lift is only done when there is excess skin/tissue that needs removing instead of being able to just re-align the nipple. Sorry to waffle I’m just re-laying what I’ve been told! I asked all spit tis at my pre op, so it’s fairly fresh in my mind! Have trust I your surgeon, they’re the professionals and know what is best for your boobies! I hope this helps Hun, I’ve found trawling through websites made me more paranoid try and relax and look forward to your new babies!xxx

thanks girls, just read that alot of surgeons don’t even perform the procedure as it is ineffective and has the most ‘unsatisfied result rate’ . Can I ask your stats Danielle? I’m having my op the 9th August with Dr Schivone, he was very nice I just wish I asked more quest now x
