Worries! Parents, Opinions and Nerves!

Hi Girls,

I’m due for my consultation this evening for Rhinoplasty. I’ve always been uncomfortable with my nose and it makes me feel really insecure. I’ve always had people around me say “there’s nothing wrong with it” or “why do you want to get it done” – I don’t know if you girls have ever experienced the same problem? People telling you that you don’t need any surgery blah blah.

Been looking into MYA for ages and have had consultations booked before but always backed out! I’ve always talked myself out of it!

Excited but nervous for tonight! The only thing I’m having difficulty with is telling my parents that I want this procedure done! Anyone else have the same problem?! HELP!

hi @charlotte omg that is so me. i dont want to b judged for spending so much money on my nose it could be spent on something else..and then i get worried about it going wrong and getting told ‘it’s your own fault’ etc. i havent told my parents and i aint going to either but then i need somewhere to stay as well as i live in a house which is converted into flats and my mum has one of those flats too so shel bloody find out. its so stressing. but all i know is it is something i do want doing.

Hi Charlotte, I just had my nose done. I had people telling me the exact same thing – that I didn’t need it done and that it looked fine. Problem was that I wasn’t fine with it so I went ahead and booked it. I haven’t told my parents – I have my own place and my boyfriend looked after me. I’m not going to tell them – I’ll only tell them if they ask me outright. I know it seems like I’m hiding something but they won’t approve so don’t really have a choice. I’m now day 4 post op and I don’t regret it at all. Do it for yourself and don’t worry about other people. X
