My op is on Sunday. Just recovered last week from a sinus infection, now i think I’ve got a throat infection (strep) I’m pretty sure it is as I’ve had it before. Ive messaged my nurse but I’m so nervous for her reply! Do you think they will postpone it? Xx
are you on any antibiotics? you should be okay as long as you disclose if you’re taking any meds and can breathe well. if you had an infection that would affect your breathing then they would most likely postpone but depends on what your nurse says, hopefully you’ll be better by the weekend xx
I’ve just noticed today white in the back of my mouth so haven’t been doctors yet, gong tot go tomorrow if it hasn’t gone away I’m hoping IT will! Yeah that’s what I though as it’s not affecting my breathing but I’ll just have to see what my nurse says. It’s agony waiting I’m so hoping it doesn’t have to be postponed!! Xx
ahh that doesn’t sound nice 🙁 you could try gargling oraldene that’s good with infections in the mouth, gums and throat, can get it in most supermarkets. hopefully they won’t postpone you as you can breathe okay but if for any reason they had to put a tube down your throat it could be very painful if you do have strep throat. hope she gets back to you quickly it’s horrible waiting for phone calls! xxx
I was coming down with a cold at the time of my op. As long as your temperature is normal and you don’t have a chest infection/chesty cough you should be ok providing you feel well enough to go into surgery.
