• Why did you want the procedure?

  I had been interested in vaser liposuction ever since I read about it on the MYA website. I was always looking for ways to loose weight and tone up online that weren’t detrimental to my health. I have always been confident with how I look, however my stomach was a problem area for me which I needed a little extra help to tone. I went to the gym regularly and ate healthily so I felt that even by doing more in the gym it probably wasn’t going to give me what I wanted.

• Why did you choose MYA?

  I had by breasts enlarged with MYA 3 years ago, I couldn’t fault the staff or my experience and loved every minute of it even the recovery.I knew MYA was where I would have my liposuction procedure without a doubt, and any other procedure I may plan to have in the future.
  I read about the loans that MYA offered which made it affordable for me to achieve the look and results I could only have dreamed of. I paid half the amount upfront, then the rest over 10 months interest free which I hardly notice. This allowed me to be able to have the results I wanted sooner.

• How was your consultation?

  I had an in depth conversation with a patient co-ordinatior about vaser liposuction which made me even more excited about my procedure, I decided to have the it done fairly soon after this meeting as I couldn’t wait any longer.
  I spoke with my family and partner who all supported me in my decision, even though they told me they didn’t think I needed it :).
  I met with my surgeon Mr.Joffily who was lovely, very quiet but I had seen his work and knew he was the man for the job, he described what would happen during the procedure and which areas he would remove the fat from. We decided on upper and lower abdomen, flanks and back. I choose Mr.Jofilly due to his background in vaser liposuction procedures and before and after pictures I had seen which I was amazed by.

• How was the day of your procedure?

  On the day of surgery I was nervous and excited, I arrived at the hospital with my mum and partner who were going to be looking after me afterwards. I was taken to my room where I settled in and waited for Mr.Joffily to come and see me. I knew as soon as he had been in it wouldn’t be long before it was my turn.
  I walked down to the vaser room which was probably the most nerve racking, I was soon put at ease once I was in the room and the sedation was given through a cannula into my hand, I soon felt very calm, relaxed and like I’d had a little too much to drink ( I quite enjoyed the feeling ). I don’t remember much of the procedure at all only occasionally when I heard Mr.Joffily ask how I was feeling where I gave him the thumbs up.
  I returned back to my room feeling totally normal in my garment, where I had some toast and water. I was able to leave about 1 hour after this.
  My dad came to pick us up from the Fitzroy to drive us home, the car journey wasn’t a problem at all I was leaking a little fluid but it soon stopped by the time I got back. That evening I was a little tender but felt like I had done a workout in the gym and pushed myself a little too hard.

• How was your recovery?

  After getting used the to garment the recovery wasn’t a problem at all, I struggled more with not being able to wear what I wanted to in order to hide the garment.
  I returned to work after 2 days walking in heels and felt great. I used to get a little more tired than normal but soon got home and was waited on by my partner, I found it really useful having someone there with me to help if I needed it.

  Day to day activities weren’t a problem but for the first few days putting the garment on yourself is a little difficult so an extra pair of hands was great.
  After 4 weeks I was able to stop wearing my garment in the day and get back to wearing what I did before only 2 dress sizes smaller.

• Are you happy with your results?

  Now I have had my surgery I am so much more confident in what I wear, I can choose items that I would have never felt comfortable wearing before.
  I cannot thank MYA enough for my results and the self confidence it has given me.
  All staff were amazing, vaser liposuction is the most amazing experience I’ve ever had, minimal downtime with the most incredible results. I’m a very happy girl :D.
