Hi ladies! Here’s the account of my surgery day on Sunday which I hope is helpful! I certainly found reading other people’s hournehs so useful to know what to expect.

I arrived at 7.50am for my admission time of 8am. Filled in a registration form at reception and chose the food I want from a menu! Shortly a nurse took me to my room – it was quite small but the bed was really comfy! They had divided one big room into two so another patient next door. She asked me general health questions, took my weight and height, asked about my MRSA swab test, and took me for a wee sample for the pregnancy test (negative). Then I changed into my gown, slippers, paper pants and slippers, was given my hospital bands. Charlie then was invited in and offered coffee. We were told I’d perhaps have to wait 30-45 mins before going into theatre. Then the anaesthetist came in who was a very nice man, said they’d look after me etc. Asked about medical allergies, when I last ate / drank. A bit later my surgeon and another nurse came, confirmed my details and the implant sizes. We signed the consent form,BCIR form, and he drew on my skin. He said we were just waiting for the theatre to be free so that we could start. Had a toilet trip before the start – glad of this because I don’t think I could’ve pooped afterwards!
Waited til 9.40am then I was collected to go into theatre, Walked down the corridor and it was a large room with the table and quite a few people in there. Anaesthetist and a supporting man nurse were the only ones who spoke to me – trying to keep me calm whilst they put stuff on my arms. The cannula was fine! Just like giving blood tbh so it wasn’t unfamiliar. Anaesthetist told me each step what he was doing. First the painkiller which was cold down my arm then a dull ache. I said it’s hurting he said it was fine. Then the anaesthetic. Could feel the impact straight away, then they started asking me about a holiday. I said Maldives, that I’ve not been but I want to go. Then I was out. Woke up in my recovery room, the nurse was there and my boobs were out – I got a glimpse downwards but was too woozy to really register. She said they looked good, then put my bra on for me – I said I want to put my nip piercing in but she said no to avoid infection I think. My surgeon came as well, put the bra band on. Then I was left to just come to, could see the heart rate monitor.. at one point I started feeling sick and also faint – my heart rate had gone down to 43bpm. I told her this and she lowered me on the bed so my head was below my heart – after a while it was fine and back to normal. I could feel pain on the front of both my boobs – feels like a big dull ache. She gave me co-codamol which helped. Charlie came back into the room by this point, though I was feeling drowsy cos of the meds. My food came – it was a pret salad!- but I only ate a bit of banana, couple of grapes, broccoli (went down the best). Throat was really dry / sore, drank a lot of water Couldn’t do green tea as it was too dry. They took the food away after seeing I couldn’t really eat much, but went for a wee. After this I was super dozy so napped until another nurse came to remove my cannula (was only a plastic tube now), give me my meds. was feeling much better by now so dressed (couldn’t pull bottoms up) and went home – napped for a couple hours and feeling much better. Dull ache still there and imagine it will stay for a few days. Hurts to move arms much, esp certain positions when I’m lying back a bit. got my ear piercings in though!

I’m on day 5 now and the pain is very bearable. I’m still taking paracetamol but stopped codeine after day 2. My left boob has some sharp pains sometimes but it’s manageable. My right boob has been fine!
Below pics show change from day 1 to day 4 – they really do change a lot! Looking forward to the drop and fluff in the next few weeks and months.

Ashley they look amazing. How are you feeling now pain/comfort wise? Did you opt for round implants? They already look so natural, boob goals x

    +1

    Thank you Ruth!

I’m off the painkillers completely for 2 days now. It’s still tight and some discomfort in certain positions but I can do everything which doesn’t require heavy lifting or raising my arms too much! Walking outside still feels very tight sometimes but being mobile really helps I think.
Yes they are round implants! However the gel moves like a teardrop when vertical. The type of implant is Motiva Ergonomix.

Hi Ashley yours look amazing! I also had my surgery on Friday and the same implants motiva ergonomix but in a 425cc. I should of been having 410 allergen teardrop but they were recalled the day before my surgery so my Dr had to order the closest thing to them! Although I had a meltdown before I was discharged after reading on my notes that I had round implants! Until the Dr explained to me how they work and look tear drop when standing. Mine don’t look as good as yours though! My right is very swollen which is disappointing really to think that it will go down in size as its a good size swollen lol. X

Thanks Ruth! Good luck with yours in the future!

Hey Grace, sorry to hear your implants had to be changed last minute but at least it was for a very good reason! Everything I read about these implants has been good so I’m really confident about them. And don’t worry about the size being smaller.. the implants will change shape as they drop and fluff!
