    Hello Ladies,

This is just a friendly reminder.

You may start to attend the gym around 6 weeks post-operative after your nurse review. This includes heavy lifting (such as children). It is strongly advised that you start as a beginner again and with caution so not to cause adverse effects. If you feel unusual or uncomfortable please stop and discuss this with your surgeon. You are not able to swim for at least 6 weeks after surgery or until your wounds are healed as this could cause an infection.

It is strongly advised that you do not use perfumed products, make-up or oils on your incisions until fully healed and even after this to approach with caution.

It is advised that you are able to fly short haul 4 weeks following the procedure and you can fly long haul 6 weeks post-operative.

It is also advisable to sleep at a 45 degree angle for 2 weeks minimum (if possible) as it helps to reduce swelling and helps with symmetry. Often lying flat can cause shortness of breath. It is not advisable to lie on your side for 4-6 weeks.

If you have any concerns please contact your Clinic.

I have no idea why MYA deleted my comment on this ???? I use bio oil on the sides and tops, not on the insicions! My body naturally goes to the side when I’m asleep so I’ve been using a pillow to support me so I’m not completely over as it’s too painful on my back x

I use Palmers cocoa butter on my breasts, but not incisions – started doing this since week 4. Then I have been using Kelo-Cote which I got from Amazon on my incisions since week 2 (my surgeon told me I could). It is brilliant!! My scars started getting bumpy and red and they are now flatter and fainter! I have been back at the gym since 5 weeks post op after the surgeon said I could as my incisions had healed well. I stuck to leg and abs, and I am just this week starting chest, back, shoulders etc… as I am at week 6. I was told I was allowed to sleep normal again from week 2, or as soon as I felt comfortable enough to do so. I wear an M&S sports bra on a night, its very tight, but when I sleep on my side my boobs don’t move at all haha! Hope this helps a bit… Also, I had uplift and implants, so my incisions will have been much larger than yours I’m guessing! You will know your own body, I tried to go back to the gym at week 4 and I could feel the stretch and pain in my boobs so I didn’t go back again till week 5. I haven’t been running though, mainly weights and hiit sessions xx
