I was so excited and looking forward to my surgery on Tuesday. I called First Trust to make sure I got an early admission time as I had said all along I needed an early time due to juggling childcare with my partner and him taking me and picking me up around work. I was given 8am and it was a perfect time, I received my email confirmation the next day which said 8am. Today I received another email saying my admission time would be 1pm! I called MYA hoping it was a mistake but she confirmed it was 1pm and it had been changed on my record. I don’t even know if I will be able to make it there now . So gutted 🙁

Oh gosh sorry to hear tht hun! If it’s any consolation I’m pretty sure u don’t have to have a chaperone to take u there if ur able to get transport to the hospital but u do obviously need someone to pick u up. If it’s a straight forward ba the op is about an hour and defo less than two. Saying that though u could be out by 4/5 or later in the evening.

There may have been priority changes based on a medical need of another patient which is why this has occurred. Someone maybe a higher risk in theatre as tht was the case for me.

All u can do is contact them first thing tomorrow and send an email to ur pc if you haven’t already done so. As rebooking ur date so close to ur op day would most likely incur a charge and there is no guarantee they will be able to give u an early slot next time either.

    All the best fxx

    Hey Fran
Thanks for your reply. I am feeling excited again today. I have managed to swap things around with travel and childcare so I am all good to go. Yaaay I just want it to be Tuesday already so I can start my recovery with my new friends 🙂
