I thought I’d share my experience of breast augmentation, as like me I’m sure many of you are starting to panic.
I’m 3 weeks post op now (thank god) and things are looking fab.
So despite having wanted this surgery since i was 15, i dont think i ever thought I’d get it. I booked my op on the day of my initial consultation for exactly a month later!

Okay so i arrived in Preston for 11am to be told that realistically my admission time should have been later but i missed the phonecall. I went down for surgery at 4pm. When i awoke i had never felt anything like it. I was in agony to say the least. My right breast had swollen to the size of a watermelon and my blood pressure plummeted.

When i got home i was literally unable to do anything myself. I needed help going to the toilet, sitting up, emotional support for my 3am hysterics (i was a complete wreck). My arms were swollen i had a left hand like the elephant man and i looked about 8 months pregnant. This operation completely floored me.. and i honestly wasn’t expecting it. I have always had a high pain threshold so just flippantly thought I’d be fine. How wrong i was.

Day 1 post op: i became surprisingly mobile on day one. Wondered what all the fuss was about. Clearly well dosed on codeine. Unable to do anything by myself.

Day 2: was the worst day of my life. I wasn’t expecting it. I had less mobility than day 1. I remember sitting there sobbing because i felt horrendous and a had torpedo boobs. Regretted my op completely. The breast band was the most uncomfortable thing ever. I got stuck behind a babygate and cried uncontrollably until my partner came to my rescue. This continued until day 5.

Day 5: was the turning point. I started to feel human again. Despite not being able to wash during Englands heatwave. Boobs still looked totally bizarre.

3 weeks post op my boobs still look strange. But they change daily. With reassurance from the nurse and you lovely ladies feeling confident that eventually they will look normal. I also bought bikinis but they were all far too small. I have never been so excited for something to not fit me.

For me now i feel like it has been worth it. I already feel more confident despite their weird shape and this breast band. Strangely which i have now grown to love.

    Finally my stats. I’m 5ft 6, size 12. I was a 36A. I have had a 375cc and a 350cc ultra high profile implant. Hoping to achieve a D cup.
My photos below are before and then 1 week post op.

I love your honest account of things! I have similar stats to you and must say my recovery was very similar as I got worse day 2 -5 or 6 too! No breastband though as I had overs, but I’ve grown to quite like Macoms now, can’t imagine life with a real bra! I’m 3.5 weeks post op now. Your boobs are looking fab! Xx
