Allergic to Codine, what is pain like for over the muscle?

Hi guys,

I’ve been told I can’t have any painkiller as I’m allergic to co codamol which is starting to make me panic! Has anyone has over the muscle and not taken pain killers? Is the pain bareable?

I had under the muscle and didn’t have any codeine, I just had ibuprofen a few times. And under the muscle is supposed to be more painful they say. I do have a good pain threshold though. Haha makes it sound like I’m bragging. I promise I’m not, just thought it might be reassuring to you. 😊 I know everyone is different. But honestly, I know it’s hard not to panic, but the pain for me was more when I moved or used my upper muscles. Majority of the time it’s just tightness and discomfort, but all really manageable! It’s all worth it in the end and I bet you’re tougher than you think! 😀 best of luck with your op!! Xxx

I had over the muscle and just managed on paracetamol. Being honest I have been in a lot of pain but it is manageable with normal painkillers xx

I agree. I’m 4 days po and under and it’s not pain, it’s just this pulling stretching weird feeling that is uncomfortable x

theres no pain its just the sitting up and moving about x

I had under the muscle and just took ibuprofen for swelling. The pain was bearable and I didn’t want to be constipated from them codine!!
