I’ve been in this forum for a few months now. My BA is next week. I’ve seen on here that people have had to pay to get their GP to release information to MYA and that some ppl have had surgery cancelled at the last minute.
I haven’t had any request for a GP letter from MYA. They asked for my NHS no. Which I got from the GP and asked if they’d had any contact from MYA they said they hadn’t. I’ve messaged my PC twice about this this week but had no reaponse. She always responds really quickly so I’m getting a bit worried.
Any advice on what I should do?

I don’t really have any advice persé but the same happened with me. I just never heard anything until 5pm the night before my op and that was just to give me my admission time! No news is good news!

Hi Kelly! I had a call from MYA last week because they hadn’t heard back from my GP so I went straight down there to find out what was going on and it turned out MYA hadn’t contacted them in the first place as after my pre op my nurse said I was fit and healthy so didn’t need one. I’m worried this will bite me in the ass tomorrow but we’ll see!

I wouldn’t worry about it, as the others have said not everyone needs to provide a letter. I never did, they took my nhs number and that was it, I have a heart condition so thought they’d contact the gp
But they didn’t. You’ll be fine I wouldn’t worry xx

Well I’ve had my pre op this afternoon and the nurse already had my gp letter.
I asked her about peoples concerns and she said that because I provided my nhs number at my first consultation that’s all I needed to do. They do the rest.
Anyway everything was fine the nurse was very informative and i have the go ahead for surgery unless my mrsa swabs come back positive which I don’t anticipate x

I am also very worried about this!! My op is on the 4th August and I changed GP’s about a month ago due to coming back from university so I had to re-register at home and I am worried that MYA will cancel my op if they haven’t received any info from my GP! My PC hasn’t replied either so I am worried!! xxxx

I had my operation today, and I had this exact same problem. I rang MYA and I was told I didn’t need a GP letter as I have nothing they were concerned about and I’m fit and healthy! So if in doubt ring them, they’ll put your mind at ease straight away! Good luck with your operation!!! Xxxx

    Thanks ladies,
You are all spot on. My PC messaged yesterday to say that they didn’t need a GP letter as my medical history is fine.
And yes Nicola same day. I’m so excited and nervous and all kinds at this point. Maybe I’ll see you there xxx

    Hi Kelly
I am so nervous ,and questioning am I doing the right thing, but I think this is pretty normal, just waiting on admission time now, I was told I should get this by Monday at the latest,, I’m undecided on size, 275cc or 300cc but reading on this forum ther isn’t much in 25cc.
If I don’t see you ther, gud luck with your operation xx

I just gave them my NHS number and that was it. Had it done with no questions asked or complications. It may be if you have personal problems that they need a doctors letter? Xxxx

I’m also undecided between 275cc and 300cc @NICOLAF85. What are your stats?
I think I’m just going to trust Mr T to make a good decision for me on the day.
Hope all goes well for you and might bump into you I suppose.
    Good luck

That’s unusual because it sounds like a lot of the surgeons are willing to make their own judgements when they get in there.
I’m 5’4 and around 8st10 I’m currently a 32AA I’ve never really had boobs, except for when I was breast feeding and even then they were only a B so I have to have unders.
