    Hi girls

So I’m booked in for surgery on 8th August and I can’t wait! I’m just wondering if any of you took to FB to announce your news to the masses?!
My close friends, family and colleagues are aware but I don’t know if it’s the ‘done thing’ to announce you’re having a boob job on social media???!!!! Thoughts?

Yes my thoughts too… I’m not bothered about who knows as I’ll happily tell anyone who asks. I just want to avoid ‘gossip’!

But guess I’ll leave ppl to figure it out for themselves! Good luck to you too!

Ooh no i didnt, im glad too. When you first get them done they wont be exactly how they should be, i was on a hen do 10DPO and the people i told on there were like ‘have you had them done?’ Because of the shape and post op bra and everything you really couldnt tell for the first few weeks and it just makes you feel like rubbish! X

I won’t be either! Not even told all of my family and friends! I’m
Nervous about telling people and won’t be broadcasting it to everyone. I have my op in 5 days (how the hell did that happen?). Xxx

I’m 7 weeks post op tomorrow, and I’ve only told a handful of people. People haven’t even asked as I haven’t been wearing things that would make them visible. I look bigger than I did in my overly padded old bras, but no one has asked. I wouldn’t be announcing it, even some people who knew gave me the million questions and a lot of people can be judgemental or jealous x

I’ve only told a handful of ppl and I’m really struggling with how to tell my mother in law and sister in law (my sister in law had a mastectomy a few years ago and opted to have muscle from her back put into her chest as she’s completely against any cosmetic surgery). I’m not afraid of telling them but I respect her too much just to throw it out there after everything she’s been through.
Worst part is we all go away together (in this country) 9 days after my op. I’m hoping for freezing weather and gale force winds so I can wear my big baggy jumpers.
I know it will all come out eventually but I don’t want to boast about it.

I know your excited and feel like you want everyone to share your happiness but unfortunately not everyone understands why we have or are having BA, announcing on FB is opening you up to mixed back of reactions, I had to tell my work colleagues due to the nature of my job, some comments have been really hurtful.
I got thick skin just glad I have because other people always have to have there opinion .
Good luck for your surgery not long to go x

@barron13 thanks so much! You’re right, just because I’m excited doesn’t mean everyone will bask in my glory! Thanks everyone for your advice xx

I’ve told my closest friends and family, and even their reaction wasn’t great, I feel they just don’t want to talk about it, maybe I’m boring them, so I’ve now stopped mentioning anything to do with it as it was getting me down. It’s great to have this forum tho, everyone’s so lovely and no judgement here 🙂 x
