    Hi girls,
I have had an emergency operation this morning due to a torn muscle which causes hematoma. I now have a band on and the nurse has told me I have to keep on for 6 weeks!! I go away in 5 weeks!

Is there a chance they may say after 5 I can take it off? Xx

I will thank you. I’ve just spoke to surgeon and he says 4 weeks should be fine. He was just concerned as very rare what has happened to me as would usually happen either same day as surgery or following day. Not 10 days after xx

Hi Jo, so sorry to see you did need further surgery this morning but very pleased it’s been detected, i had a very painful recovery and felt my pain levels exceeded what would be normal and lasted over 5 weeks, on day 5 or 6 i had severe swelling in one, i went on to have all kinds of issues and still in pain 1 year on, i have muscle damage now and my implants need to be removed for at least 6 months to try to allow the muscle to repair and to overcome the double bubble but have been warned the damage could be ireprable so i would do exactly as they have told you to ensure the best outcome, i dont know if i possibly had a hematoma in the beginning and thats what started all the issues off but im so happy that you have received good care, i hope the rest of your recovery is plain sailing! I was told at 4 months the band would not help my outcome but was told it was ok to wear it if i thought it was helping so i wore it at night to help me sleep for a while, shall include a few pics if it will let me, take care and really take it easy for a while now, i know that can be difficult but rather that then needing revision later down the line xxxx

I’m so sorry to hear this Claudine. It must be absolutely horrendous for you and I really hope that they can do something for you and they can repair it for you.

I am going to make sure I take it easy now as I am scared it may happen again. I am just going to have to be patient.

Thank you again for the advice and please keep me posted as to how you get on. Take care xx

Just take it easy and get as much rest as you can but stay mobile inbetween and no stretching or reaching that’s as bad as lifting, you will feel really delicate now i hope you have somebody to help you at home, take care and best wishes to you, will all be worth it in the end im sure xxx
