    Hi!

I lift a lot of heavy weights in the gym and have quite a low body fat percentage. I have my consultation with my surgeon this evening, I am concerned I will be told I can only have unders due to not having a lot of body fat. I have heard a lot of horror stories about never being able to train chest again.

Anyone had unders and been ok training chest, or anyone with overs with low body fat and do they look natural?
It is a bit of a deal breaker for me, can’t not train chest again as I am trying to get into powerlifting and bench is one of the lifts.

Any advice or experience is welcome. Thank you xx

I’ve had overs and I do weight lifting however I have a fair amount of body fat hahahah.
I was a 32a before with very little skin but very happy I went over.
I had my op done in November and while I have gone back to weight training I’m not actively targeting chest muscles right now x

Hi @beccaba45. You will be able to train your chest, it’ll just take a lot longer to get back into it. I had unders and still struggle with flyes but I’m 100% ok with bench press. I think it’s the extra outwards stretches for me which I still can’t get used to. If you google it there’s a lot of forums with discussions regarding unders/overs for weightlifting x

I had 375 HP unders, I went from a 32A to a 32DD/E, I couldn’t weight lift for around 2 and a half months and then was back to normal, I started light and listened to my body! Some people can lift the month after, it all depends on your body!

Thank you so much for all your replies. Been told I will still be able to train chest! Just might lose some strength but I’m ok with that. I’m hoping because I used to it I will be able to get back into it quickly x
