Had my consultation with Dr. Mounir today and he told me I have asymmetry in my rib cage, think my left side was sticking out a bit more than the right so I have to have 2 different sized implants. He also informed me that if I go under the muscle I will most likely still have the asymmetry after the surgery but obviously he wouldn’t know how big the difference would be. I always had my heart set on under the muscle because of the look and the pro’s of it. Just wondering if anyone on here was told the same thing and how yours look now after surgery? Is the difference even that noticeable? My asymmetry doesn’t bother me now so hoping its the same after my implants

Would love to see any before and after pictures of anyone that was in the same boat as me?

I haven’t had mine done yet, however Mr Mounir told me the same yesterday. I don’t have a choice but to have unders as I’m a 32a currently. Hoping some other people’s pics might put my mind at ease too!

Hey, I have severe chest wall/rib cage asymmetry too however one side of mine dips in a little rather than sticks out, so the opposite of what you have.
I would say trust your surgeon… I had no idea about my asymmetry before mine told me! I ended up having an extra 25cc in my side that dips in (naturally smaller side). It’s really hard to predict the outcome but I can’t imagine you would be left with a very noticeable difference, if any.
I’ll attach a before/after but bear in mine that I’m only 9DPO so they’re going to be nowhere near even yet haha 🙂

Omg yours look so good! Wouldn’t tell they’re uneven unless you proper look for it.
I was thinking aswell, even people with naturally big boobs always have some sort of asymmetry so its just a normal thing isn’t it

Hiya, I was always told that boobs are like sisters not twins so a little asymmetry is normal!

Hi, i had an asymmetry problem pre-op, i had a size difference which wasn’t noticeable at all until i had my children but breastfeeding exaggerated it to noteable, however i also didn’t know i had a subtle chest wall difference until my BA consultation, i had the same size implants as sometimes placing 2 different sizes can make the problem worse it doesn’t just make the smaller breast larger it can change it’s shape and position etc….so not allways an option, my size difference did remain after surgery but wasn’t a big issue as the upper pole eventualy settled at the same height so naked you could tell massively but i don’t run around naked lol, clothed you wouldn’t see it, my main problem is because of the asymetry my implants continue to move each month further away from eachother, i had a pre-op gap but i could still form a clevage with a padded bra, after my op the gap was wider due to swelling but closed nicely at 6 weeks and stayed put for a while, but then started to seperate again they got softer over the months so eventualy i could push them together with a bra allthough painful, my surgeon at that stage said some stitches could be put in to reduce the right one jutting out to the side but i had to wait till 12 months, unfortunately now at 11 months i had my follow up yesterday and there so far apart now that performing a capsulorraphy (re-inforcing with stitches) would mean the shape of the breast would be squeezed and distorted so thats no longer an option, im very thin so taking them from under to over is not really an option for the high risk of rippling and an overly fake look, i have a few choices, to live with it, i dont feel i can stay in discomfort for much longer and i also loathe the way they look i feel i avoid more clothing now than i did before, to have them removed, or my absolute last hope, a possible chance to try and improve the appearance but my surgeon does not know if it is a visable option yet and needs a few days to look into for me then send me some info, he said had i had more tissue he would have simply changed the placement to eradicate the gap but sticking with unders he can’t work any further medialy.
It’s been a long year and if i had been warned this was a possibility im not sure i would have gone ahead? but at least i could have been prepared so i think it’s very responsible that you are both being warned about it up front, i loved them at first and once problems got worse i was sure i was suffering from lateral displacement caused by muscle deformities, also thought i may have needed a lift on that side so it genuinely was a huge shock yesterday to discover it’s possibly just all down to the size difference i started off with, my advice would be to ask lots of questions before your op now they have pointed these potential problems out to you so you know upfront exactly what type of issues your asymmetry could lead to in the future, good luck to you both xxx

Hi Hun! I also have a slight problem with asymmetry. Met with my surgeon this week (still pre-op) and she suggested 400 CC and then anything from 250 CC to 300 CC in the other. I’m overly nervous about the outcome with 2 different sized implants, as I don’t want to end up with the same problem just a bigger version :(. My surgeon also suggested unders for me, I’m meeting with her again and I have so many more questions now! Sorry I don’t have any after pics for you though.

Claudine, what size was you before your op? X

I was also told on my initial consult that one side was sitting lower than the other by Dr. Mounir. He said he would put a smaller one in but didn’t actually specify how much smaller, my PC said it would be the one down but I’m doubting it now and waiting for my second consult to clarify. I have 32aa so they have to be partials
My surgery is booked for the 5th of march, hoping it won’t be too noticeable!

I was a 34b but i had lost all of my upper volume, tissue was all at the bottom, i was told i didn’t need a lift as the nipple wasn’t drooping they just needed filling back up, ive seen tons of girls who started out like me with a size difference, most have had it evened out with different implants and some have just retained a very slight difference but i never thought for a moment the difference in size could cause the implants to migrate apart, i thought once i had hit the 2-3 months mark they would only change in shape with drop and fluff not keep moving, there still moving now at 11 months, if it were just the volume of the implant that moved lying down i would not want to revise as that would only be visible sunbathing i would just wear a very supportive bikini to prevent it but it’s when im standing too so theres no way to hide it xxx

I bet that’s been so frustrating Claudine 🙁 have you made a final decision on what you’re going to do then or do you just have to wait for the surgeon to get back to you?

Also Indiah, my surgery is on 5th March too!! are you at the first trust hospital?

Yeah it’s been pretty draining it’s on your mind constantly but you have to be realistic at the same time and remember it’s not the end of the world, yeah im just waiting to hear back from him but ive done a bit of digging today and unfortunately the plan he was hoping to look into for me which i was pretty excited about is unlikely an option, i’ll see him again in a few weeks time xxx

Hi Chloe I haven’t had my surgery yet minds the 26th, I’m with Mr Mounir and he said the same to me. Try not to stress to much he’s very particular, he’s ordered 3 different size implants in 3 profile for me and is going to try them all on the day to see what’s best. However he couldn’t stress enough that they wouldn’t be twins when they settle you’ve just got to weigh the pros and cons up, for me anything is better than what I’ve got haha xx

I didn’t expect mine to be twins, i knew i would probably allways see a shape & size difference, if it was only me that could tell i wouldn’t mind but i look so deformed now theres no way to hide it not even in clothes, only in shirts xxx
