I was told to wear my macom bra for six weeks and then after I can wear any bra I like. Is this right because I worry about wearing underwired bras so soon. I’ve been told different things about bras and I’m so confused, can anyone help?

Hey , im am 8 weeks post op and i am wearing underwire bras and have been since about 6 weeks post op. My surgeon said i could wear any bra from six weeks just as long as it felt comfortable. He also told me to check under my boobs and scar after about an hour to check for any marks that might indicate that the bra had been rubbing or digging in as i am still quite numb after surgery. Hope this helps 😊.

I’m so scared to wear underwired bras until I’ve seen my surgeon which is in February. I’m unsure about bralettes though, I’m not sure they would give enough support?

Hey , i have also been wearing braletts and they seemed to feel really comfortable and hold things in place . I haven’t had any problems with under wire bras .just as long as you feel comfortable and that the wires arnt directly sat on your scars you should be fine . I still wear my macom bra at night though .

    Heya,

I am now 7 weeks PO and have brought a lot of wireless bras. I have been told not to wear wired for a good few months as they can really irritate your scars. Maybe just look for wireless all shops do these and you cant really tell the difference xx
