I should make it clear I’m not a MYA patient but find this site really useful.
I have had an initial 1 hour consultation then a follow up to do sizing. I was offered 300cc which I thought was too small for my build & the fact I’ve breastfed twice. So I went back and had another follow up in which i was upped to 325cc. The thing is that I still think this is smaller than I want and I’ve almost fallen out with them before I’ve even got them in!
Also my surgeon has never asked for my opinion on what size i would like or any pictures of my ‘ideal’.
I was measured once at 12.5cm breast width, second time at 11cm and third time at 12cm. These were all within 3 week period!
He has been very curt and not let me speak. I feel i don’t have a rapport with him.
I have booked to see another surgeon at the same hospital but wondered if anyone has any advice on changing surgeons???

How do I approach the new surgeon without sounding like I’m being narky about his colleague? I feel in a pickle that I daren’t get out of now as I have my surgery booked in with the original surgeon (the hospital have said i can change though)
I don’t want to look like I’m an awkward patient.
    Sorry for long post x

    Hi,
I didn’t go with mya either. I just had a quick look at your profile and you have the exact same stats as me. I was offered 400cc. I do think that 300cc is a tad small for your height but I’m not surgeon haha. I have no idea how you would approach the other surgeon mind… you could just say that you ideally want to go bigger as you are paying a lot of money to have the procedure done. Sorry I’m not much help xxx

Hey Sarah, I didn’t go with MYA either (although I did have a consultation there). I saw 2 different surgeons at the same hospital and the second surgeon was aware of this from my hospital notes. I simply explained to him that I wanted a second opinion before I booked surgery. He was completely understanding and actually said it was very sensible of me. It’s a big decision and you have to go with the surgeon you are happy with, even if that means seeing 1,2,3 or however many different surgeons! Hope that helps xx

I know we aren’t allowed to discuss other providers, but I have just noticed from your profile we went to the same hospital. I had my op at Spire 2 weeks ago so please feel free to add me xx

Thanks Jessica and Emma. I really appreciate your replies x I haven’t found anyone really with my stats with 300cc and at a push just a few with 325cc. I don’t want to be huge but I have hips and a bum that I want balancing.
Emma I have sent you a friend request. I will approach it as you suggest with the “second opinion” rather than just ranting about the other surgeon! If they see I’m paying yet again for another outpatient appointment hopefully it will show that I’m really not settled with my original choice. Thanks x

Hey im very much your stats and i had 400cc 7 weeks ago. Measuring a d/dd and some places and e. However they dont actually look that big. My surgeon said 300cc would take me to a c cup and the 400 to a d cup x

Thank you Sophy – all just making me sure 300 and 325 is too small. Like I say I’ve fallen out with them and I haven’t even got them yet haha! If I got offered 400 I think I’d be ecstatic!! 🙂 xx

At the end of the day it’s your money your boobs so it should be your decision on surgeon xx
Your paying a lot of money so want it done to what you want and if the surgeon isn’t prepared to speak clearly honestly and thoroughly to make sure you understand what and why he’s choosing that size that surgeon is not for you no matter where you go x
You shouldn’t be made to feel awkward about asking questions even if it means getting consultations with other cosmetic surgeons it’s your choice !!
🙂 hope it gets sorted for you x
