Hi ladies I’m currently on day 5. I went out for the first time yesterday in a car ride and was so uncomfortable. I felt my breasts are still so so so hard and just strange. I’m not having any pains really just like little shooting ones. I am having small cramps is this all normal? I really don’t know what to expect and shall I just remain patient? X

Hi Carmen. Don’t worry, your sharp pain, cramps or hardness is absolutely normal. Mine were very hard until around 12dpo.
Going by a car was a nightmare but I was using a pillow between my boobs and the belt, such relief. You can also put a pillow under your bum if you feel all the road bumps etc.
It will pass and day by day you’re going to feel less uncomfortable xx

Hi, iv never posted on here before but have found reading everyones stories very supportive.
I am 6dpo and omg recovery is alot harder then i ever imagined. I have 2 boys under 6 months another 3 years old so usually life is hectic. My husband has 2 weeks off work and has been amazing. He had literally done everything for me and the boys as i have felt and still feel rubbish.
I have been very unfortunate to get a bug post op too on day 3, iv got a cough, cold and i think its related to the op, a throat infection, which is making eating and swallowing painful. I had to cut down my meds by half from day 4 as i got extremely constipated from the meds and it was horrible the pain was unbearable.
The pain is still tad uncomfortable on my breasts they feel hard and heavy at times and have sharp shooting pains , don’t feel they belong to my body yet.
Today is 6dpo and first time i attempted to get dressed and take a car journey to local pharmacist to get something for my throat (i was passenger) the car journey was only 10 mins return journey and omg it was horrible , i was uncomfortble and found the bumps made my breasts bounce even though they are very tight in the bra i was given on op day.
I am really struggling with the sleeping as the pain in my breasts, bum and back are too much to bare, any tips anyone???

    Thanks x

I have been lucky and not been in any pain rainbow, I drove for the first time today and iv had to have a sleep this afternoon as it took it out of me. I feel they keep burning up or burning sensation, my nipples are always tingling and so happy about that! My swelling is still there a lot looks like a double crease hope it disappears with the swelling! I can’t seem to upload pictures. But so in love in with them! Thank you Monica for your advice and glad all seems to be well with my symptoms! Rainbow this forum has been an absolute god send to me! And love how everyone is so friendly and helpful as not iv not been very public with my breast operation.

Your recovery sounds amazing, so wish i had that, may be if it wasn’t for the bug might not have been as bad for me .
How do u feel driving? I have to drive my son to nursery next week and that alone fills me with dread, my left boob is the more pain ful one making my arm movments weaker, so the thought of using the gear stick worrys me . But i suppose thats next week and ill be 13dpo then so should be fine. X

Fingers crossed for your recovery Carmen!

Rainbow, day 13 should be fine as it is advised to not drive for 2 weeks.
When I had to take a taxi from hotel 1dpo I thought I’m going to die and was nearly crying, exactly same feeling, like my boobs were jumping up on each bump. Ahhh nightmare but it was just getting better and for next time I just took pillows with me.
No good advice towards sleeping as I’m still struggling a bit. Most important is to make yourself as comfortable and soft as possible.
Are you over the bug and all the viruses?
    Xx

Hi Monica today i finally feel more human i feel my bugs (other then the cough) are finally shifting. So now finally its time to get some normality back in my life .
Got my 8dpo clinic appointment with the nurse tmw so looking forward to seeing my breasts development propely as iv been a wuss with the pain and not even peaked at my boobs by undoing my bra (although iv felt to ill to be honest to want to even try). I was told not to remove my bra untill the appointment anyway so for once i did as i was told lol.
Last night sleep was the best iv had since the op but not when i woke up ,i found i slid down in my sleep was lying tad flatter then i wanted so that took thay horrible pressure of my back and bum, but sitting up after and letting my boobs settle again after moment wasnt pleasent, but was so worth it to have a decent sleep. X

That’s so great to hear you’re doing better Rainbow. There’s nothing worst that just getting ill straight after the op especially if you have little ones around.

All you’re experiencing it’s going to ease soon. You’re over a week now so on a good way towards the recovery.
I was told not to remove my bra but couldn’t help the pain and had yo let them free just for a few mins plus really wanted to see how they’re changing. Of course bra on straight after.
Fingers crossed for your health. Hope you’re over with all types of the viruses xx
