Day of the surgery

Hiya! My surgery is on Wednesday and I was wondering if anyone could share any insight on what actually happens on the day. My admission time is 11 so how long is the wait usually until you actually go in? The person who is waiting with you can they wait in the same room as you or only after you’ve had the surgery?? Any advice for the day??

Hi babe.

When you get there you’ll be taken to your room and given a gown and socks to put on. You’ll have your obs done and a pregnancy test. You’ll have some paperwork to sign.

The wait varies. I was admitted at 1 and went down at 3.30pm. the person who is going with you has to wait in the waiting area whilst you’ve had your op but can stay with you before and after your op xxx

Hi Hun yes exactly as abo said!!! My admission time was 11 but didn’t go down until 3.30 so had a long long wait then didn’t get discharged until 9pm was so tired when I got home!!! My mum and dad came with me but they only allowed one in the room so they kept swapping ( I was at Preston) then after my op and when all the managers went home my nurse let them both in thankfully!!! My mum was allowed to stay in my room while I was having my op but I think she went and sat with my dad anyway !! Hope you go on ok!!!!

Aw thanks girls!!! I’m getting a bit nervous now and I literally worry about anything and everything so just wanted it cleaning up in my head hahahaha thank you!! X
