    Hi girls,

I’ve searched the forum for this and found some old posts but just wondered if anyone else is having difficulty with their doctors?

I’ve recently changed doctors and when I asked for my medical history they missed off my medication that is on repeat (for anxiety/depression that I’ve been on for 4 years) .. I’ve gone backwards and forwards between my old and new surgeries and now need my gp to write me a letter. My new surgery is being a right pain about it and I don’t know what to do! My surgery is due end of April which I know is still 6 weeks away but I’m so worried MYA will cancel my operation and as I’ve now paid for it etc I’ll loose all my money ?

Has anyone recently been through same thing? Need some advice please

My doctors should of been simple but they basically refused to give it and charged me £50 when i asked them,i spoke to mya and they said no we’ll contact them again, had all my pre op etc. While still waiting for it and MYA received it a few days before my op so you have loads of time do not worry!

I had the same issue ? my docctors sent MYA a medical review straight away however because of medication which I was previously taking I had to get a letter from my doctor to say I was stable for surgery.
The reception at my local GP was making this difficult and said all they could give me was the medical review that MYA already had?, however I booked an appointment with my actual doctor, explaind the situation and he was great he wrote a letter for me. I had to pay but it was worth it for the piece of mind. I hope you get it sorted I know how stressful this situation is ?

My doctors were the same, at an appointment a GP said I didn’t need it and refused. The receptionists were a nightmare, one did not know what they were doing at all and another was very rude to MYA staff who called up. I was horrified and embarrassed to hear how MYA staff had been spoken to. In the end I went straight to the gp again, making sure it was a different doctor who agreed to do it despite his views that it was also unnecessary.

He agreed to do this on Thursday last week (7th) and it takes 3 working days to write a letter after the £25 payment has been given. Today is the 12th, and I expect the letter to be ready tomorrow but we’ll see. My surgery, hotel and recovery items (approximately 7k spent in total) is fully paid for and should be happening in 12 days (24th).

Needless to say I can completely empathise with you girls x

I had the same problem too! I’m on a high dose of anti depressants and was so worried my surgery was gonna get cancelled and I’d loose my money like you, I booked an appointment with my gp and litterally spent the whole time licking his arse telling him how happy I am and he eventually agreed to write it, he brought up all my traumatic past experiences trying to see if I would cry so he could say I was unstable! But I held it together and now my op is sorted only got 2 days left of waiting! Don’t give up hun and don’t let it get you down, I was in tears every day I was so stressed about it but it all Got sorted! Good luck hun! Xxx
