    When did everyone start going back to the gym and doing exercise after their op? My surgeon said after 4 weeks should be fine which I am at the moment but my boobs still feel so tender I don’t know what I’ll actually be able to do at the gym that won’t make them sore? Has anyone been back to the gym at 4 weeks po? x

    I’d say leave it about 6 weeks and listen to your body. I’m only nearly 3 weeks post op but my friend who is a gym goer and does weights said it’s best to wait 6 weeks. Or even trial and error it yourself if you want to go back sooner xx

    I went back 6 weeks after but kept the weights fairly light.
    I’m 4 months post and I’m fully back into my weight lifting now 🙂

    Do you girls expect that cardio – running 3-5k – is do-able at 4 weeks po or earlier?

    Kristy – I would recommend starting lightly (slowly) running until at least 6 wpo. When you run your boobs jiggle and if it’s not healed properly it can move into wrong position. Couple more weeks won’t make a difference in a long term 🙂

    I am 6.5w po, have seen the nurse yesterday and got signed off for light exercise. I do yoga/pilates. Went to the first class today after my surgery. There is a lot of upper body work in yoga, so had to take it easier today.. It was not painful, just felt weird at times. Nurse suggested not going too hard at first or I would be too sore

    However, everyone is different and you definitely should listen to your body 🙂
