I have 11 facial piercings, a tongue piercing and multiple ear piercings. Will I be made to take them out? I absolutely refuse to risk losing any of them, and some of them can’t even be removed, and those that can will heal over by the time I could have them put back in. 🙁
Would it be okay to try and switch as many of them as I can to retainers and cover them with tape?

I’m taking a few of mine out, I have a dermal which i got changed to a plastic bar. I just need to take the jew out of it, but you can change them to bioflex bars. I have 16 piercings, it’s a nightmare!

Is there a waiver or something I can sign to say I accept the risks of keeping them in? 🙁

@mialilith I’m not too sure, at my pre op I never got told about any waiver. However it is worth asking, they only ask cause they cauterize the area and that can burn where any metal is. I did get told plastic or bioflex bars are okay to have in, I asked my surgeon, nurse and PC! but luckily my piercer is happy to take mine out the day before and put them all back in the day after

I have lip x2, vertical labret, cheeks, medusa, both nostrils, 3mm septum, dermal, bridge, tongue, tragus & daith, I’d be able to switch most of them to bioflex but it’s gonna be super difficult, my issue is my body tries to heal over piercings the moment I take them out, so even for a couple of hours it’s not an option 🙁

There is no waiver as its for your own safety, you will not be able to keep them in unfortunately, the cauteriser will burn any areas of metal touching the skin and cause damage to that area! Sorry Hun but I’m nearly positive they will not let you keep them in even if you were willing to take the risk I don’t think your surgeon would as its quite dangerous!! I only know because I am a nurse who works in theatres x

I don’t know what to do then, because they can’t be taken out 🙁

I’ve been searching through here and some girls said it was fine for them to stay in, as long as they signed a waiver 🙁

I have a few piercings but mainly in my ears and the ones I couldn’t get out they just taped them up I’m not sure about facial piercings as I took my nose ring out (was a nightmare to get back in as hole went smaller) but I would ring and check with them!

I want to know this too as even though my nose piercing has been out for a couple years now, I have a metal plate on my collar bone which I can’t exactly remove but surgeon didn’t mention any problems with it?

Hey hun, U really need to confirm the status of ur facial jewellery removal with ur surgeon asap because it’s more a health risk rather than an inconvenience especially if u have so many in a particular area.

Ive read about girls with nipple or belly bars but not dermals. If u can change any to plastic usually seems ok. Although nipple piercings in particular are usually removed.

If u refuse to remove them and it has to be done the ops gona get cancelled anyway.so the sooner u know the better! I’d send images to ur pc of ur piercings and notes about the piercings so they know the exact placement and she can send it to ur surgeon if u can’t see ur surgeon. That way ur giving them all the info so they cannot say u haven’t tried.

This should have been addressed by ur pc, surgeon and at ur pre op by them or you!

Remember they do say in the paperwork that most women have more than one ba in their lifetime due to upkeep. So consider this carefully before u get anymore piercings and their placement.

Really hope the outcome is successful and you get ur ba in the end. Fxx
