I’m only 2dpo but I am in sooo much pain!! It’s so hard to tell what’s normal or not, I just can’t wait to get this strapping off.

Did anyone who had strapping and breast band that struggled have any advice? Just feeling really sad because everyone’s recovery stories sound so positive and I just feel in agony, was literally in tears last night because my back was burning so much. I’ve woke up today and it’s all underneath where the incisions are now and I think my ribs where I’ve been using my stomach to lift myself up. It will all be worth I know but just feeling really down as I don’t even know what they look like so it’s not even like I have that to keep my mind positive!

I also haven’t even heard anything from my pc since I had my Pre op… not asking how it went, if I’m ok! Is that normal? Find it odd

    Hi Lauren,
You know what your body can handle pain-wise to know whether it feels right or not. If it feels so bad to the point it’s unbearable then maybe you should contact your nurse for some advice? If it’s painful but manageable then maybe just see how you get on for the next day to see if it subsides? Keep on top of your meds too because that really makes a massive difference.
I’ve read on here that day 2 and 3 are usually the worst for pain. Try not to let it get you down, everyone recovers at different rates so don’t compare yourself with others.
I hope you feel better soon 🙂 xx

I’m yet to have my surgery… 17.10.17! But I’ve read a lot of people use ice packs and swear by them! I have bought loads in preparation. Have you tried these yet? X

    +1

Ice packs 100% wrapped in a towel. It won’t last long Hun, try and take your pain killers, keep yourself hydrated and get a lot of rest.

I didn’t hear from my PC after either, still haven’t heard from her 4WPO! Charming really considering how much we pay xx

    Hi Lauren,
I’m 2 days post op too. Didn’t think it would be this hard. My boobs aren’t strapped but they burn underneath and they’re so numb they don’t feel attached. My back and bum hurt from trying to sleep sat up.
I thought everyone has had a really easy ride and I’m hating the recovery !!!!

Can’t wait to be healed x

Hey girls i am 2 weeks post op and it doesnt feel like it but it does get better i was advised to alternate the pain killers with the musle relax drugs they give you so your not waiting 4 hours between doses which i found helped. I too struggled for the first few days still cant lift my arms above my head put pain wise etc and moving about is not far off from normal. Hang in the hun x

Had my unders Tuesday. My back is agony and my bum. I’ve changed my sports bra as one I had on was so tight it felt like it was to small. The one I have on I’m now worried its to big. This is my second op had first 17 years ago. Do not remember the pain being this bad then but guess I’m older now. Haven’teven sat in front of a mirror to have a look at my boobs as feel so rubbish x

    Hey Lauren,
Hang on in there, I’m about a week or so ahead of you and your story is so similar to mine!. I think it’s if you have unders it’s 10x worse the positive stories tend to be from girls that have had overs ( lucky things!) . I had exactly the same my back muscles were awful I couldnt stand straight, and the incisions burning. It does get better aeound day 5 and the each day is better and better after that. Ice packs helped me sleep. If you can get someone to massage the top of your back then that helps. It’s horrible having the strapping and band. The band is such a nuisance even now! Know your not alone though. xx

Also sleep with a V pillow under your bum. I got told this about day 4/5 and it helps so much with sleeping. I was waking every hour before I done this xx

Aww hunni, I had a horrible recovery too. Unders are very painful and I was no way prepared for the amount of discomfort I’d be in. Phone your GP, explain you’ve had your ba and ask for stronger pain relief. I was literally in bed for the first week unable to do anything for myself. Even after I was prescribed stronger pain killers. Use ice.. Lots of ice.. And sleep as much as you can. It got easier for me after about day 7 or 8 when I was finally able to wash my hair and shower…. Still wearing my band as we speak and it’s uncomfortably tight.. I’m 15 days post op now and went back to work today. Was thankful of some normality to be honest. But just remember you’re not alone on your ba journey and we are all feeling the same lovely…. And the end result is waaaay worth all the pain. Sending you healing hugs xx

Hey… I’m 25dpo and I wouldn’t say I had the best of recoveries but it does get better… I had so much pain where my incisions was and my back and bum was the worst, by day 5 I stopped taking pain relief but mainly because I was really constipated. I still feel pain now but it’s just tenderness as I’m still healing 🙂
