Wednesday I have my first consualtion with my pc. I’m so excited.
What sort of questions should I ask, would you say?

Hi Rachel, for my initial consultation I went with basic questions & then asked more about the actual surgery to my surgeon.
I wrote them down which helped, & most of them were answered by the nurse/ surgeon before I’d asked 🙂 At my initial consultation I wrote down:
    – expected overall cost
    – recommended time off work
    – how long until I can be back to normal (gym ect)
    – what to expect surgery day
    – post op bras (ask this again to surgeon)
    – time frame they’d need to be changed
    – mobility after op (so I could ask someone to stay home with me)
    – pain/painkillers
    – propped up sleeping & pillow recommendations
    – types of implant used (I didn’t play with implants until my 3rd consultation)

I’m not going with MYA so it might run a little differently for you. My initial consultation was talking about why I wanted the surgery, what I didn’t like about my boobs, surgeons available, expected cost, risks & complications & it was mainly really basic stuff.

My 2nd consultation was meeting my selected surgeon. We went over again what I was hoping to change, what he would do during the surgery, I have mild tubular breast & he explained what that was & how to fix it, risks, complications & revision, how long until I could be back to normal. I asked the same questions to him as I did the nurse which helped because he had slightly different answers on a few.

3rd consultation was all about size & shape of the implant! At no point did I feel rushed or made to feel excited about my decision which I really liked. I waited 2 months before from my first consultation to my implants size & I think this helped me to make my decision based on the information I’d been provided with & not through excitement & rushing to get in the operating theatre. Sorry this message is so long haha! Hope it helps 🙂 xx
