Lois I have one bigger than the other to due to one healing quicker and dropping. So I think it’s really normal. I think I might go and get my nails done today too make me feel more like me haha.
Has everyone taken their socks off for good yet? I think my nurse said 5 Days which would be today so I want to take them off like now as they are driving me crazy now.
Claire that what my tingling was! Similar to pins and needle feeling I’ve had it since day 2 although it’s calmed down a lot now, I’m also starting to get some itching which I’ve heard is a positive sign. Xxx

Yeah the tingle keeps coming and going, they aren’t completely numb and I can still feel nipple sensation slightly. It’s all really weird haha. Xxx

Hey, yes one of mine is bigger than the other but they heal at different times so just have to be patient!

Has anyone sneezed or coughed yet, wow it’s so hard! Ha!

I haven’t sneezed thank god, coughing is not to be recommend and we were watching the big bang theory and had to turn it off because laughing is also off the agenda lol

i tried to find the aftercare sheet they gave me and take a pic to upload it but i can’t find it now!

mine have started itching and heard that’s a good sign too

my right is bigger, firmer and higher than my left. i’m only really getting pain in my right too which is worrying me. I have a reaug after having implants for 8 years, i never had any complications luckily (only wanted them redone because they never corrected my tuburous breast deformity so always wanted them redone to fix this with a lift), however in January i started getting pain, mainly in my right almost like a pulling muscle feeling which then became almost constant and more like a throbbing radiating pain, usually on the side of my right breast, sometimes above and sometimes underneath and i’d occassionally in my left breast too. i started worrying above cancer as my mum had cancer a few years ago and her only symptom was pain (thankfully she’s all clear now fingers crossed). in my first appointment with mr mahdi he said i seem to have low grade capsular contracture (CC) (some people just get pain not necessarily severe hardening/distortion). then on my second appointment he said i don’t have it (which makes me worry what the pain is then!) i wish i’d gone to get them checked before i’d gone for my reaug to put my mind at ease a bit. pain can also be caused by rupture and mahdi told me after my surgery that i didn’t have a rupture, so that makes me hope it is CC as i’d rather that than cancer. mr mahdi said that he wouldn’t be doing a full capsulectomy (removal of the existing capsule) when he did the reaug and lift as this would cause unnecessary trauma to the pocket and increase my chances of full blown CC, i’d read before that there’s more chance of CC in second surgeries. instead, he thought it was best to do a capsulotomy (freeing the capsule from the implant, removing the old implant and scoring the capsule to allow for the new implant size). i’m just worrying now that my right is firmer and painful from the old capsule squeezing the new implant and i’m going to get bad CC on that side. it was hard knowing what to do for the best. just wish i’d gone for tests prior to surgery and hope im lucky. sorry for the rant, this is just constantly on my mind! hope i’ve not just wasted my money trying to finally get the boobs i’d wanted for years and that i’m being paranoid!

I’ve also called for the nurse to call me back because i’ve noticed yellow stuff on the dressings but can’t tell how new it is and my skin above my nipple is yellow but that must be a bruise.

i haven’t worn my socks since coming home from surgery, i feel like they’d give me a DVT/bloodclot, they’re so tight. i’m been moving around a lot, think they’re only necessary if you’re being inactive.

i’ve reduced how many painkillers i’m taking, was taking two paracetomol 4 times a day and 1 ibruprofen 3 times a day. since yesterday i’ve been cutting them down. i didn’t take any codein/cocodamol because they cause terrible constipation, so i’ve avoided that. is everyone else taking augmentin antibiotic for 5 days after surgery? today should be my last day on them but i’ve got an extra pack left, don’t know if they just gave me too many.

sorry for my enormous ramble haha x

Laura, I wouldn’t worry about the cancer thought you have as when I was researching I went to Harley first and she told me one of her surgeon didn’t do a procedure due to him finding something on the inside that didn’t look normal so they had it tested and it turned out to be cancer. So from that I took away that if anything wasn’t normal inside the surgeon would detect it. Obviously to put your mind a rest after you’ve heal see your Dr and see if they could give you a scan?
With regards to the antibiotics mine are called erythromycin stearate and I have to take them 4 times a day for 7 days. I have an allergy to amoxicillin so I’m not sure if I have different ones due to that?
Deffinatly keep in touch with your nurse and any of the staff at mya and voice your concerns. They are there to help you so you should feel like you can ask as many questions and request appointments to see them when you like. X

thanks claire! trying not to overthink everything anymore as there’s nothing i can do about it atm. i’ll speak to the nurse on friday and trying and make my concerns clear when i see mr mahdi (not booked to see him yet- when do we have our first post-op with our surgeons?) feel like when i’ve mentioned my pain through this whole process i’ve just been fobbed off.

ahh yeah augmentin are amoxicillin. i’ll ask the nurse when she gets back to me if i’m ok to stop them today.

has your pins and needles stopped? x

Erm the pins and needles sensation is still there they go really numb when I sit in certain positions but when I stand it seems to lessen more.

I’ve just taken my bra off and changed it for the first time ! Because i was too chicken to do it any earlier, I have quite a long chest and I’m not gunna lie I feel like they look silly haha i mean me and mr netri both knew i had a long chest its just the way i am so that couldnt be changed and I know there is alot of change to come so I’m trying not to think about it too much. They are so much bigger than I expected so I’ll be glad when then start to sofen a bit. They both look pretty level and the sane size so i dont think ive started the drop and fluff yet.

Does any one know at what point they start to get softer?

the pins and needles is probably the nerves starting to come back to life and reconnect so sounds like a positive sign. everything below my nipples are completely numb atm which is common after surgery. the bottom half of my left breast was numb for the past 8 years anyway, i never regained sensation there!

did you end up going for the 400cc? we have really similar stats, i’m 5ft 7,5, around 11.5 st, about size 12. i was 36 A pre op, i had 340cc on my 1st op which made me a 36DD (although i looked a large C with no bra on) and i had 450cc this time and even though it’s only 110cc difference, they feel massive!

they start to soften and drop over the next 6 weeks you’ll see alot of difference. after my first op i found after 4-6 months PO they didn’t really change anymore after that.

No I stuck with 375 and told him if he got there and it didn’t work to pick the size that worked best turned out 375 was fine. I do think they look quite big tbh it think it’s because I’m so used to nothing haha.
I’m looking forward to them softening !! X

Amber I didn’t find I had much pain at all tbh
Just sorness that stopped on day 4. I’m still suffering with cramping from the bloating though that’s been the most painful for me x

Okay tha makes me feel better! My nurse told me to keep my socks on for 2weeks but my feet are constantly freezing I don’t know if they’re too tight and blood isn’t flowing properly?

No I haven’t sneezed or coughed yet thank god haha I am dreading a sneeze though !

Laura try not to worry! But you can also see your dr when they’ve healed more and express your worries!

The antibiotics I’m taking are cefalexin and have to take 4 a day for 7 days! But I did forget to take 2 today so I have alarms set for in the night!

I’m dying to change my bra but I’m just to scared to take it off myself lol! Amber I have had quite a lot of pain moving but I have had mod masto lift and changed to my areola so the incisions around my nipple have been very sensitive to movement. But I stopped taking cocodomol day 2 as I couldn’t cope with the sleepiness. And stopped taking the painkillers every 4 hours a couple of days ago and tbh haven’t taken any today. I had my surgery Friday! Xx
