    Hello lovely ladies,

Just thought I’d post a little something for general advice from anyone who is PO.

I have my initial consultation this Saturday so still early stages of the whole process.

What should I expect? Are there any specific Q’s I should be asking?
Do they select a surgeon for you? or do you choose after you’ve done your research?

    Thanks <3

Hi ya and welcome, you’ll be a singed a personal consultant, she’ll ask you though same medical forms before you go in to your appointment.
Then you’ll be taken in to go throw it with her.
She ask you what look your after fake, natural if theirs anything in proticular you what like size wise.
You’ll be give an appointment to see a surgeon to try on sizes, options in profile, placement of the implant over or under the mussel.
I’m sure if you would like to see same one in proticular tell them and they will do there best to get you in to she them,
You can see more then one surgeon if your unsure.
I didn’t, I wanted and got the surgeon I wanted soi went with it.
They may try to get you to place a deposit on the day of seeing your pc, obversely you don’t have to.
I hope this helps a little. Xx

My pc gave me information on all surgeons to read through but also spoke about who she thought would be the best surgeon for what I wanted she was very helpful and easy to speak to. Am really pleased I went with her recondition. Take your time to look and ask your pc questions about the surgeons, Good luck xx

This is all brilliant info ladies thank you it is very much appreciated.

I think I’ll make sure I ask for info on all their surgeons and start reading up on them.

Just out of curiosity what would you guys say is best over or under muscle for position of implant? I know the surgeon will advise on this at a later stage but just curious.

It’s all getting a little exciting now even though I’m just at the start of my journey lol

I’m based in Newcastle Upon Tyne so will have to travel to one of the Hospitals

    Thanks xx

Hi Lauren, I’m from Newcastle as well and my PC at the quayside office was Julie. She’s really nice and talked me through the surgeons in my first consultation. I went for Dr Mounir as I’d heard/read good things and liked the sound of him. I think they’re all amazing tbh, they’re all experienced professionals fully trusted by MYA. You’ll travel down to Preston for your op which is about 2hrs away, wasn’t a bad drive at all. Feel free to add me and ask anything you want, I had my op yesterday and am still down in Preston xx

I had unders, as personally I feel that the have a bit more support and it’s a bit easer for breast scans and mmrs later in life. As I sometimes suffer with random lumps.
But if you’ve got enough breast tissue to have overs you can go for that option. I’ve read it’s less recovery time.
But I have no regrets go under I thankfully have suffered to bad I feel..
Just a little heads you I took photos on my phone to get a better idea at home, it may be worth doing that to help with any doubts on sizing. Xx

Really appreciate this girls. Laura how are you feel now you’ve had the op? I was looking st Dr Mounir he would be my first choice having looked in to the surgeons. did you opt for the overnight stay after the op? I’ve just registered on this site so it’s all new where do you add? I’m hopeless.

Thanks Claire how long ago did you have your op? I’m unsure about size I don’t want really big just up a couple of sizes. I guess they’ll advise me in the consultations on sizing and whether I have under or not.

What was the turnaround time for you guys? I’m hoping to get my op in December whilst on annual leave.

    Hi Luccii,

Did you have your consultation in Newcastle? Hopefully I can secure the date I’m looking at in December.

Need to ask a few questions about healing time if I get them done in December wondering if I’ll be fit for my trip to Iceland 18th Jan. Suppose it all depends on how quick I heal.

I get how eager you about it all, I was the same. It it’s just a few more days. It best to see for you self in person.
I had mine two weeks ago.
I know Christmas is supposed it be one of there busy times. But I’m sure if you ask they would make a note and get back you when the date are released. Xx

I feel so excited but my mind is going in to overdrive thinking of all these different questions lol

Hopefully I’ll be fit to travel in January as the trip is all booked and paid so I guess if not I will have to wait for my op until Feb next year 🙁

How long ago did you have your op Claire? are you happy with results?

No I’ve got mine this Saturday in Liverpool, if you’re planning on paying your deposit at your consultation this sat I think you’ll get the date you want 🙂

From reading on this and speaking to friends the worst part of it is usually 3-5 days following the op so you would probably be fine for your trip. My friend felt fine by day 4/5 and was only off work for 1 week, but I suppose recovery time can be different for everyone xx
