Having your splint taken off

Hi all!!

I had open septo rhinoplasty a week ago today (Friday 4th December) and my splint/cast comes off on Monday 14th!!! Very excited but … Does it hurt having it taken off and cleaned? I’m getting scared for the cleaning as I can hardly move my face/mouth as it is now because of how tight under my nose feels! And I have hamster chubby swollen cheeks. Thanks girls! Lillie-Rose xx

Hi Lillie Its not painful when the splint is taken off it just doesn’t feel very nice…..And they don’t clean you up very much as they can’t really touch the nose so don’t worry too much…..I took some paracetamol before I went just incase lol ? You’ll be fine Keep thinking about seeing your new nose ? ️xxx

Hi @lianne Hun. Ah okay, so do they not take all this dry blood stuff around my nostrils off? And the stitches – do they get taken out or are they dissolvable? I’m nervous the swelling is going to take over my opinion of my nose! Thanks Hun xx

Hi Lillie They do clean you up a bit but don’t like to touch the nose too much so I still had quite a lot of dried blood around my nostrils when I left…..My nose is still blocked with dry blood now and I’m nearly 3 weeks po…..I had closed rhino and my stitches were dissolvable ? Your nose will swell quite a bit when the cast comes off so bare this in mind when your looking at the shape etc over the next few weeks I’m still very swollen but love it how it is already lol Good luck today hun ️xxx

Thanks @nataleigh10 Hun! It’s changing through the days ATM, swelling, some bruising like colour across the bridge but it’s doing really well thank you! It’s quite a journey! Xx

Hi girls. Did you clean the dry blood off your nose? My nose is feeling so crusty it’s driving me insane!!
