Hi girls, I had my BA on Friday and I stopped taking my pain killers by Tuesday as I felt I didn’t need them as the pain was becoming bareable!! Over the last few hours the burning sensation in my left boob has got a lot worse and I’m worried it could be signs of infection?!
Could any of you advise on when the burning feeling stopped or whether any of you have had anything similar please???
My post op check isn’t until Monday with the nurse! Thanks in advance xxxx

Hi babe, I had no pain at all for the first three days then had pain in my left breast from day 4 to today which is day 7, I couldn’t even put my socks on cos I felt like I was being stabbed with a hot poker in my left breast, if it’s infection it will be hot to touch and red, I’d say it sounds normal but check with your nurse if your overly worried babe xx

Ok thanks that’s put my mind at ease! It’s not hot to touch or red so hopefully no infection! I will see how it goes and if it gets any worse I will ring my nurse to double check!
Yours look amazing btw, I hope mine look as good as yours when I get a proper look at my post op check ???? Xxx

Ice packs and ibuprofen is what my nurse told me yesterday will help.
Thanks babe, I’m over the moon with them so far and I’m sure yours will look awesome and the pain will stop soon, good luck xx

I had that hun & tbh it was the worse stinging I’d ever felt, it’s nothing to worry about tho, mine went after about 4/5 days xx when it stings just stop wot ur doing straight away & relax ur arm & it will pass xx I don’t know if it’s part of healing or if it’s when we over stretch our scars so to be on the safe side listen to ur body & when the stinging happens stop doing wot ur doing & let it pass xxxxx

Honestly Hun the burning sensation is usually just the healing I really wouldn’t worry. You’ll have your 1 week check up and your nurse will check your incisions for any sign of infection. The pains and discomforts can all be very unnerving but just expect it to be weird for a good few weeks. Shooting pains, itching, heating up. All normal. Like the girls say ice ice ice

    Thanks girls!
I’m going to go and get some ice packs today so hopefully they will help like you said!
I think once I’ve seen the nurse at my post op it will make me feel better cos I keep worrying about my scars and whether they are healing ok as they are covered up lol! Xxxx

I wouldn’t worry unless there very hot red inflamed, over the next few weeks your get periods of different pains n sensations as your feeling returns to normal I’m 5 months po now n some of my under nipple around scar area is still numb in places, ur get the dreaded morning boob, the sudden sharp short pains, I had a bruis like feeling in my rib area for a couple of weeks from about week 5…. your boobs have been through a lot of trauma so all though these pains are all bearable some more uncomfortable than others they are all to be expected, try not to worry I would recommend though once your dressings are off just morning n night and after showers or baths wiping your scars gently with antiseptic wipes to keep them clean but if there is no horrible smell oozing inflammation/ lumps ir red hot areas I wouldn’t worry too much xx
