Hiya.. I had my consultation yesterday and have booked my surgery for December. I’m having 400cc which is the biggest I could have. My surgeon wants me to have round textured but when I’ve seen photos, the round smooth seems fuller / more upper volume. I haven’t seen many photos of textured so I’m struggling to compare.

My surgeons concern was that over time, as little as a year or two, the round smooth could change shape and drop and that I wouldn’t be happy.

I’m seeing a lot of girls with similar stats to me with round smooth and no issues?

Anyone who can shed some light on this or send photos of their smooth or textured so I can compare!!

Hi Zarah – there isn’t a difference between how a textured or smooth implant will look from the outside really. One of the main points about the textured implants is that it massively reduces the risk of the implant moving around inside the breast. The smooth implants have a much higher incidence of moving or rotating around and therefore needing correction and more surgery.
The thing that will make the biggest difference in appearance will be the profile of the implant and the size of it, not whether it’s smooth or textured.
