I’m 18 in about a month and I’ve saved up the money for a BA and have been saving since I was 16. How do I tell my parents?? I’m really worried they’ll be disappointed in me or judge me but I’ve wanted this for so long!!

Have you ever mentioned it to them before at all? That you’d want one someday? Honestly I know you probably won’t want to hear it but I’d wait a bit longer anyway. My boobs have looked the same since as long as I can remember and I always thought to myself if they never grow in I’ll have a BA. I’m 23 in jan. But even my PC said that after 19 is recommended because even though in most cases you’re fully grown then, but some people do grow late.. Have you booked anything yet? X

No I haven’t mentioned anything because I thought I’d best wait till old enough! I know some grow late but my mum and sister have big boobs and have done since they were young! Even my sister who’s younger than me has big boobs! I did used to think that but definitely don’t think this is the case

Don’t worry Sally I’m trying to do the same and I’m 26 ha. I think you just have to plan out how and what you want to tell them.. my PC suggested telling your more supportive parent first then it may be easier to tell the second. For me, mines all about lack of self confidence – I always have to buy x3 boost push up bras, I’ve never been on holiday cause the thought of wearing a bikini is too much to handle, the fact I feel out of portion (I have wide hips and a big bum) and I know my body isn’t going to ‘change’ anymore . Giving a reason on why you want it done is probably going to be accepted more.

No I know what you mean I’m exactly the same. My mum, gran, all mums side of the family all have big boobs, my younger sister has bigger boobs than me as well which was one of the main things that convinced me to get a BA I’m clearly the odd one out.. I haven’t told my dad at all (I don’t live with him) but told my mum and she didnt really agree with it at first but when I explained not all boob jobs end up big and fake like you see on the telly she was fine with it and said whatever makes me happy. She even offered to come to my pre op with me. I’d tell them separately personally then it doesn’t feel like you’ve got 2 people sat there grilling you 🙂 just explain how much it affects you and upsets you being the odd one out and not feeling comfortable in yourself. I’m sure if they can see it’s something that really affects your quality of life and not just a ‘phase’ they’ll come round and accept it 🙂

Thanks so much for your help girls! It’s just so hard because I live with them both! I think my mum will be fine and accepting and I know my dad will I’m just worried he will judge me for it! I’ve done so much research over the past 2 years and I know if I explain it to them they’ll understand! Just very nervous as I know I will have to at some point! x
