How long did you wait before having shower & washing hair?

I am 4 DPO due to have my dressings changed on Friday. I have been having shallow baths but I am dying to wash my hair and have a proper shower.

What about booking into a salon just for a wash and get them to blast it of for you as they have basins for u to lie back into saves trying to do it yours self that’s my plan when I have mine done x

I had to use dry shampoo for the first week then I managed to bend over the bath tub to wash mine, I hated not having it washed properly. I am now 2wpo and have to wait until Saturday as they dressed my scars back up after taking stitches out to have a proper shower x

Hi @cm1984. I used to kneel on the floor outside the shower/bath and tip my head over to get my mum or sister to wash it. It killed my back but was much easier than leaning back over the bathroom sink and I could help with the shampooing and rinsing a bit. I wouldn’t have a proper shower until your nurse says it’s ok. It was around 2wpo for me, I felt amazing after it and so disgusting beforehand! At my 1wpo appt I had one dressing off and a new one put on but I think others get it taken off altogether x
