    Hello,

    I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to choose your surgeon? I have booked one consultation, but I’m already having doubts? This is due to lack of information from patients and the odd bad experience. Any help/advice will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    @ellie-jayne tbh if you have doubts I wouldn’t go with them. This is your body, and you want to be able to 100% trust that person with it. Really research into them, maybe try and find people on here who have had them, and find out their experiences xxx

    I would say go with your gut, if you have reservations now and continue with the same surgeon then it could make the whole journey more stressful for you, of course there is a chance that this is a major step to take and your first BA consultation would have left you with these doubtful after feelings no matter who the surgeon was, best way to get to the bottom of it would be to book another within MYA and see how you feel after the second one, theres a chance you may end up feeling alot warmer about the first surgeon you consulted with xxx

    Hiya Hannah, thank you for your reply. I know thats what I keep saying and the amount its going to cost me, I don’t want to be unhappy. Its Mr Mhardi, there’s not a lot on him as he has just joined MYA after a few years away, a lot have said he is nice and neat, but also heard that one girl is unhappy. When I compare his work to others that puts me in doubt to. I just don’t know if I’m being silly and panicking xxx

    @ellie-jayne Did your PC say why she recommended him? Normally they base it on what you’ve said to them, although I have heard some weird reasons as well. Maybe meet him and see if you like him in person, but I think if you have doubts now, you’ll have doubts going into the consultation with him.

    I knew I wanted a certain surgeon when I went to MYA and I knew I wouldn’t consider anyone else. Xx

    You will always get girls who are unhappy with their outcome and sometimes it’s down purely to their own expectations which may not have been met or couldn’t have possibly been met by any surgeon.

    It’s such a personal experience and it’s important to get a feel for the surgeon based not only on their results but their manner with u. Do they listen? Offer to explain things in more detail? Do they explain their reasoning? Give too much choice for you to consider in sizes? Etc…

    I knew who I wanted after researching the Mya surgeons and when I met my pc she reccomended the same surgeon to me based on my expectations and final result that I wanted so I knew I was on the right track.

    Each surgeon has their own way of working and sometimes ur better off just focusing on ur gut like the other girls said. As soon as I met my surgeon Dr Fiumara I knew she was the right choice. She was so warm and really seemed like she actually cared. She was very blunt and explained I needed a slight uplift also and explained her reasons why. She didn’t rush me or make me feel silly. I booked to see her again a few weeks late to fond out more and eventually booked my op. I’m really pleased with my results and happy I went with her as I felt like I was more than just a random patient.

    Beat of luck hun

    Hi Danielle,
    Thank you for your message, sorry for my late reply I have been so busy. I have heard that once I meet them I will know, I think it’s just the suspense of waiting for the consultation and my mind doing overtime on research. I feel more confident with meeting Mr. Mhardi now as I have been reassured and done further research and have seen more pictures of your work. Thanks for all your help. I can’t wait I have my first consultation in 12 days.

    @hannahlaura my PC said that Mr. Mhardi has many years of experience with breast cosmetic surgery with MYA and other companies, although he has just recently come back to MYA. They also said to me he specialises in tubular breast also, but in all honestly the more I look at mine they don’t seem it. They obviously know my aim after surgery so maybe that has contributed to their decision also. I am settled and reassured now and I’m looking forward to meeting with him in 12 days, I think my issue was because I was overthinking and trying to find fault because I just want everything to be perfect and run smoothly, because of my journey so far. I have back-ups in mind, just incase.

    Thank you Hannah for your help! Hope your well?

    Also sorry for the late reply I have been so busy.

    Hi Fran,

    Thank you for your message it’s really appreciated. Yeah your first point does really make sense now, as explained outcomes can’t always be achieved either by patient or the surgeon, but also due the pre-op circumstances and recovery stages, there is a lot that can have an impact on the results of BA. Your second point I wouldn’t know yet I have my first consultation in 12 days, so I have made a list of questions, saved a few images and if okay with you I am going to make a note of your questions, to question myself after my consultation. In all fairness each surgeon seems brilliant in their own way, my PC recommended Mr. Mhardi for me, so I am looking forward to meeting him but also have another surgeon in mind as a back up plan. I have heard Mr. Mhardi is lovely and very experienced in the area, so fingers crossed. I am hoping to have the same feels after my consultation, I think with any procedure to do with yourself your going to be apprehensive and then just depends how they make you feel on day and what they can offer you. I have met with a plastic surgeon before, but was not given the choice it was him or no one and was maybe seen as “just another patient”, whereas here I have the option, more advice and is more personal to myself and my needs.

    Thank you again Fran for your help. Hope your journey is going well?

    Hey hun ur more than welcome! I’m ten months post op today! Honestly just ask as many questions as u feel too. Some surgeons are noted to not be very chatty and tbh I think some see so many girls they don’t know who is really serious or could be wasting time so it may result in some being less willing to go into detail. I think asking questions especially health related and about the ins and outs of the proceedure demonstrate u have researched and are not overlooking any issues tht may arise as no surgery is without risk.
    When I met my surgeon she said outright I needed a mini uplift and wouldn’t perform on me unless I had it basically. I was really thrown and had a second consultation a few weeks later where I was able to ask questions based on her findings. I made the mistake of talking to friends about what she said who said she was mad etc and I was an idiot for even considering it. Then I realised my mates had never seen my boobs nor were they qualified surgeons. So I bit the bullet and researched like a maniac!

    It was the best decision I made and totally had faith in what my surgeon suggested.

    All the best for your consultation hun and there’s no harm in seeing another surgeon if ur still uncertain. I love the fact that Mya do give the option as they have so many surgeons to meet different needs. Fx

    @fran32 Hey again! 🙂

    Thank you so much for being so open with your experience I will definitely will remember what you have said. How do you feel now has everything settled 10 months down the line? Like I say I have wrote a two page list of questions for my surgeon. I think I may need a mini uplift, so kind of expecting that to come out on the day. Yeah I don’t think anyone who hasn’t wanted/needed or had surgery like this understands how you feel and how important it is to get it right do they? I sometimes feel like this. I am trying not to tell many people.

    Thank you so much, honestly it means a lot.

    Hey, I feel happy with my choices despite my boobs being three cup sizes bigger than anticipated I love them. I’m so happy I did the mini uplift and realise I wouldn’t have the results I’ve got had I not gone ahead.

    My only regret is not having them done earlier in my life,but nothing happens before its time I guess x

    @fran32 Hello,

    Really? Was that unexpected? I can’t wait… glad you love them though! Yeah thats what I have in mind if your doing it, do it properly as advised at the end of the day its your body isn’t it!

    Yeah definitely, but you’ve done it and you’ve got great results! I’m young but its had such an impact on my life so far I have to have it done!x
