    Hi,

I am 1 week post op today and have my nurse post op tomorrow. So guessing she will remove the little dressings, and leave them off?!? or put more on!? At what point can we put creams or something on to aid healing and reduce scaring, or not bother? If yes, what do you suggest?

Also do we have stiches removed at the post op? Or are they disolvable?

    Thank you!! x

Hi Nikki happy healing!! I went back after a week and she re dressed it with iodine strips. I had disolveable stitches so they werent visible at all. Then after two weeks she took the bandages off and cleaned the wounds and that was it! Feel smashing xx

I’ve never used creams or anything tbh as there’s no necessity x

Hi, just been for my 1wpo appointment with nurse, she took dressings off, showed me the scars and redressed with Inadine a mepore dressing! I think Inadine can sometimes cause a bit of stinging but my boobs are still quite numb so I couldn’t feel anything really,
I’m a nurse and itching from the wound is often a good sign of healing, if you want it to calm down I do sometimes tell my patients an antihistamine helps to stop itching but I don’t think we are supposed to put anything on the scars until at least 6 weeks post op to prevent infections!!

Arh fab thank you guys. I’m looking forward to going later today and seeing how the incisions/scars are looking. Worried that as I’ve started feeling better and less pain, I have been doing a bit more. Just worried I caused damage or anything. Looking forward to checking all is ok! Xxxx
