Has anybody lied to work?! I really don’t want my work finding out I’ve undergone BA, for many reasons, but feel like I may need to explain why I’m not feeling 100% when I go back! Has anybody kept this a secret?!

Hi Halley, I’m due to have surgery next week. I have told work that I’m having an operation for personal reasons/elective
I’m using some annual leave but if I need more time I will self certicate or go to doctors to get signed off??

Hey Hun, I started a new job around the time I was booking my surgery. I just told my manager I have to have surgery and require some time off, although didn’t say what for. I was worried it would be held against me, hence not saying what. Although they’ll Probably notice when I go back anyway but it’s done then so what can they do ???????? xx

I told my work exactly what I was doing, thankfully they understood. But I’m so glad I told them, as they will really notice you aren’t yourself when you return to work, they may not understand unless you explain to them. But I think it depends what job you have, my job involves lifting and moving. Xxx

My job involves lifting, i told my line manager in confidence. I had above two wks AL and returned to work on light duties, my colleagues assumed i had hurt my back. I would tell your line manager but insist they keep it to themselves x

Its so true! Leaving work with little boobs and returning with an eyeful of cleavage a week or so after lol. I just booked some annual leave and have about 10 days off including bank holiday coming and weekend which helps if ur trying to save as much annual leave as u can. If I need any more time off I will not hesitate to grab a doctors note its too much of a risk if u feel ur body might not be ready, everyones recovery is different only time will tell.x

I Have told my manager that I am Having surgery but not what kind. I have 1 week hoilday in after, then I will need a sick note, but I told her I’ll be putting one in and may not be back for 6 weeks, I asked about light duties but don’t think that will be possible x

Hi ladies, thanks for the feedback! I’m super lucky in that my job doesn’t require doing much at all, I’m pretty much sat most of the day and don’t have to lift anything, but I do need to be at work, definitely can’t have 6 weeks off! My work will never notice the size as I’ve always worn ultra padded bras and actually started wearing my rice sizers to work in a sports bra! I’ve felt a lot better today and managed to get to my nurse appointment with no trouble at all, that’s made me feel a little more confident for next Tuesday. There’s one lady I work with who knows, and she will be able to help me out when she’s around but other than that I might just say I pulled a muscle or had a chest infection while I was off and still struggling a bit! If I really can’t handle the week come Tuesday I may self cert for four days x
