Lifting child after surgery?

Hi I really want to book in for a BA however i have a one year old son and wondered how long it would be until I could lift him. Anyone been in this situation? If so, when did you manage to lift them? Thanks in advance xx

I have a 9 month old daughter and had my ba on Friday…if I needed to pick her up I could do if I was careful and held her against my body. My partner is taking 2 weeks off work to look after us all and I’m sure i’ll be back to normal by the time he goes back.

Hi, I have a 1 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. My hubby took a week of work to help me with the kids. The first week is definitely the hardest but even then I was lifting the little one later on in the first week as sometimes you have no choice. Only on about the end of the second week was I able to lift him in and out of his cot. But as my hubby only had a week off work by the second week I was doing everything myself I even managed to drive as had to take my other little boy to school. I know everyone’s recovery is different but so far I’ve found mine a lot less painful than I imagined!!

Thanks for the replies. I should be ok then, i have plenty of help it’s just going to be hard telling him I can’t for a while. Needs must at times tho I suppose!
