Hi everyone, iv posted a similar topic to this before, sorry, but I’m just so worried! I’m having my ba plus uplift in 5 weeks and will have an almost 8month baby ( who is very chunky and heavy lol) and I’m so so worried I’ll not be able to lift her or change her nappies etc afterwards that I’m seriously thinking about cancelling it. My fiancé has 9days off work so he can do all of the main stuff, realistically is this enough time or will I need more help? My family live hours away but can come down at weekends so that’s fine, but mon-fri I will be alone with my baby and I’m just so scared that I’ll be unable to move my arms or something or just in ridiculous pain and not fit to look after her properly, but obviously I will no matter what pain I was in so will rip my stitches-especially with it being an uplift too. Sorry for the repeated post I’m just stressing so much about it! What has the pain/ lifting/ looking after babies been like for anyone after a ba and lift please? Thanks everyone xx

Ah good hopefully it won’t be too bad then. Oh god I know Nicole it’s making me really want to cancel it, and iv wanted this for ten years! My main worry is not being able to lift her/pick her up because when your alone with a baby it’s just constant isn’t it there’s no way I could be on my own if i couldn’t lift my arms, but also not being able to cuddle her and soothe her 🙁 she’s so excitable and thrashes her arms and legs out loads imagine If she knocked one :/
    Xx

I completely get you huni I remember when my son was 8 months he was so on the go and was a little rough baba. I’m luckier in the sense that aside from lifting him into his cot he’s pretty independent now he’s just short of 2 years old. Do you have anyone who can stay with you for a few days to help out. I have my mum and other half taking over my mama duties for me. Still worried he’s going to want just me though xxx

Is that because of the uplift of the BA Alex? xxx

I have a 4 month old, and a 2 and a half year old, and I had a BA on Monday. I’ve got round the clock help for two weeks by staying with my mum. Ive told my two year old that mummy is poorly so she stands really still while I cuddle her, or she cuddles my legs. My 4mo gets laid on my legs or next to me so I can hold his hand xxx

Thanks everyone. Yeah it’s the uplift that’s my worry, I just keep imagining the T bit popping open and it’s making me sick! So dramatic lol I havnt even had it done yet. I’ll have 2 weeks of help now, so hopefully that will be ok. God I’m dreading it I feel like such a selfish mother xx

Hi Hun I’m in a similar predicament I’m starting back work this Monday and still a bit sore and I’m a student Midwife – so will be lifting / feeding/ bathing / changing about 20 babies a day! Going to try and take it slow at first ( also as no one at work knows I’ve used my Christmas holidays for my surgery) but very nervous in case I over do it. Will let u know how I get on, got a super supportive bra from m&s aswell so hopefully will help xx

Oh god that sounds awful! Did you have an uplift too? How long have you had off work before you go back? Hope it’s not too bad for you on Monday :/ xx

Fingers crossed will be ok but totally understandable for you to be nervous of overdoing it! I am! No I didn’t have an uplift… But despite the fact I’m usually good with pain I think because maybe I was so tiny to start with I’ve had a really rough recovery only now managing to use my arms normally! I’ve had 2 weeks off 🙂 luckily as I’m still in training we had a 2 weeks Christmas holiday so I planned my surgery around it. Just going to try taking it slightly easier but I’ve found the more I get up and about now the less stiff I feel! It’s more the fear of damaging them than anything with me now the pains worn off xxxxx hope healing going well for you hun!

    How to measure yourself

When measuring, remember to wear a bra, keep the tape measure straight and snug and make sure it’s warm!

A – CUP MEASUREMENT – Measure around your body at the fullest part of the bust. Don’t have the tape measure too tight that it flattens your bust.

B- ACTUAL AROUND BODY MEASUREMENT – Measure around your body underneath your bust. Pull the tape measure quite tight.

I’m in the same position. I’m still putting off getting ba as I cant bear not to be able to cuddle my 2 year old and my baby that will be about 8 month. It will literally break my heart if they cry and I can’t comfort them. I’m trying to say to myself they will always want/need cuddles no matter what the age so may as well get it over with. I was hoping to very my husband to only take 2 weeks :S I wish I only needed breast enlargement rather than lift too!
