Low iron two weeks before op!

Just had a call today from my doctors to say my iron levels are slightly low but it’s nothing concerning, I have a telephone appointment with them on Wednesday!
I’m still awiaitng other results so won’t fax the results to Mya until Tuesday. Going to start taking iron supplements in the meantime, was just wondering if anyone else has had this so close to their op date and if all turned out ok?
Am I likely to get it up in time if it’s only slightly low?
