Hi girls after seeing the nurse yesterday I was told I can now lay flat in bed and boy was I excited about this. However……. last night I had the most incredible shooting pains and as soon as I sat up the pain subsided. Every time I laid back down it started up again so surrendered to the fact at 3am I had to sleep sitting up again. Has anyone else had this? The pain was incredibly intense! X

I can’t help with regards to the pain, just wondered how long it has been since your op? I’m dying to sleep lying down lol! Not seeing the nurse until 28th which will be 10 days post surgery for me x

Oh gosh Lindsey I feel for you! I had my op on 14th December but I think I’m going to reduce my angle gradually over the next week. I think it’s the knitting together of nerves and increased blood flow to the area when laying flat. So will just monitor it until I get my stitches out! How’s your healing going? Xx

@josnow it’s not too bad, had an awful day yesterday but think it’s coz of all the tension in my neck and shoulder which gave me an awful headache, spent most of the day in bed feeling sorry for myself! Loads better today, not really taking any tablets other than at night time and the antibiotics. Yeah I bet that’s what it is sound about right can imagine it all being a little uncomfortable, I have started lying a bit lower down at night, sitting too high up was really hurting my neck. These boobs better be worth all this lol!! X

Haha! I hope they are worth it to! I’m pretty certain when we get to 12 weeks we’ll have forgotten how it felt in weeks 1 and 2. Small price to pay for feeling great though. We’ll get through this! Xx

Hiya my op was the day after yours on 15th and the nurse told me to keep sleeping sat up until I’m 2 weeks post op! I was a bit gutted as I thought she’d give me the all clear to lay flat but she said to stay sat up for another week so it might be worth waiting till then too? Xx

Yeah I’ve decided it’s more comfortable to have another week sleeping upright and have neck pain as opposed to stabbing pain in the middle of the night. Hope you’re healing ok? Xx

Ahh everyone gets such different advice! My surgeon said not to worry about it at all, although I have been sleeping propped up in my V pillow to make sure I don’t roll on to my side!
I don’t have much swelling at all, or bruising (yet) so not sure if that makes a difference?
I’m not saying don’t follow your own surgeons advice, just how it’s interesting how it differs!

I was allowed to lie down quite early on but it wasn’t that comfortable! With each day that passes it will get easier 🙂 xx
