    Hi,
I’ve been advised to put micropore tape onto my incisions 2WKPO as they are a little raised.
Has anyone else been advised this ?
Bit worried about putting tape directly onto them so early on on.
    Thanks
    Adele

    Hi Adele
I have been advised the same, the nurse explained I needed to replace everyday however it wasn’t an easy task removing it.
Perhaps try when I’m in the shower. I googled it as it seems a strange thing to do directly on the scar appears it helps to reinforce the wound.

    Hi Sarah,
Oh thank you for replying… well that’s reassured me slightly that I’m not doing wrong then.
Seems so strange putting tape directly onto it.
I will give it a go then.
    Thanks Adele x

I had this after mine, it just helps to flatten them but only change them once a week if I was you as you don’t want your stitches pulled out and it doesn’t help much in the shower either if it’s the nude coloured tape it’s really really strong and sticky lol

Hi Charlie…. thanks for the advise.
It’s good to hear other people have had it on their scars too.
You always worry you’re doing the wrong thing.
    Thanks again Adele

Yes, you do need to wet them as my first attempt was awful when removing.
I’ll be glad when the whole experience is over lol xx

Oh me too Sarah, can’t wait for the 6 week mark.
I’m 17 days Post op now & some off my stitches still haven’t dissloved. It’s driving me crazy as feels like it’s pulling.
All be worth it in the end lol x

I had micropore tape on straight after surgery, I’m changing it every 5 days. Any sooner than that you will risk pulling stitches out. My scars look fine and I’m 18 days P.O. x
